Was just at a work lunch and they had TNT on, there was an AEW commercial every break which was nice to see.

My bold prediction is that LAX cost the Bucks their match against Private Party, the Jurassic Express manage to beat the Lucha Bros without any shenanigans. In the semifinal match Express wins and Angelico and Evans attack both teams. On the other side, SCU makes it to the finals using a different combination of partners each time. The only thing I’m not sure on is if they do the untested Daniels/Scorpio team first or last.

Could see Evangelico attempting to ruin the tournament because AEW management is "holding them down"

Interesting that that TV description refers to him as Cody Rhodes. And that it doesn't mention Moxley or Jericho.

Rumor is that the show will be called AEW Dynamite. Also known as Jericho's Revenge in the US.

I don't think it's going in a weird meta direction at all; Angelico and Evans didn't make the tournament due to a fan vote, they're angry about it and part of that anger is to management for not just putting them into the tournament in the first place. These dudes might get a mic and yammer on immediately about pushes or something, but for the time being at least it's all pretty well within the boundaries of something sensible. It'd be weird for AEW to run the shows they have without dipping into worked shoot nonsense only to shit the bed two weeks out from TV for a mid-rung tag team

Makes me wonder if they're going to call him that once the trademark lapses and he can get it. From what I recall, the trademark only applies to merch, so he could call himself Cody Rhodes for a while now if he wanted to, but obviously, that's still more limitation than he'd want.

AEW (and NXT) are going to go up against one of the Wild Card games? Eesh. Though if it's the AL Wild Card, it shouldn't take too big a hit because it's likely going to be between the A's and Rays. Neither's exactly a big market team.

Nyla vs Riho encountering Shayna vs Candice on October 2.
Hopefully AEW gets to sign some talent who were at All Out, their women division is weak compared to NXTs imo.

Why does AEW have to compete with WWE or NXT for top female talent? It doesn't move the needle. It's the whole idea Bischoff had when launching Nitro: If the WWF is doing it, do something different. I think that is part of the reason NJPW has made inroads in the U.S.

Honestly for me quite similar I dislike watching Shayna, but Nyla is also very sloppy and green. Both Riho and Candice are just "there" for me,they are great but there are better choices. But yeh besides the Joshi, the AEW's female roster is weak... Luckily they DO have the Joshis and that is a big differential, sure NXT has Io Shirai which is banger, but she is doing it WWE style, not Joshi style.

I think that is part of the reason NJPW has made inroads in the U.S. How is WWE "doing it" when the "it" here is literally just an entire gender having wrestling matches? AEW is doing so many different things from WWE and even in the way they've presented women it's been a different portrayal and match style; where is the idea that just by having women they're trying to do what WWE is doing? New Japan is not making inroads into the west for being a sausage fest.

Wouldn't be surprised if Priscilla gets signed after returning from her European tour by the end of this month. AEW's Twitter account mentioned her regarding Casino Battle Royale 2, and she also wants a match with Nyla after the brutal elimination.
