Which movies did you own/record on VHS and watch the heck out of, back in the day? I thought of this when in another post we mentioned....
Jetsons: The Movie (yes, this was one for me. I know it was sub-average, but 13-year old me still loved it for some reason) Original TMNT (1990) All Dogs Go To Heaven Wizard of Oz Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore The Will Vinton Dinosaurs special
Recordings..... Grease and Grease 2 (former from HBO, latter ABC so you can guess how hacked and slashed it was) A Chorus Line: The Movie Body Slam Several Saturday Night's Main Event, choice weekly wrestling shows I happened to record Today's Special...the Dinosaurs episode

Yep, me too. Pretty much any Disney movie we got on video qualifies. Especially this, The Lion King, and Fox and the Hound (I was SO happy when they finally released this to VHS, as I had never seen the actual movie itself, only was obsessed with the book/record I had as a kid). Sleeping Beauty was another one.

We should've hung out. Great choices!

When I was a kid, one of the first VHS tapes that was bought specifically for me was The Great Escape. I loved that movie, and I must have watched that VHS so many times. I still watch that film, whenever I stumble across it on TV.
And Transformers: Arrival from Cybertron. I was more into the comics than the cartoon, but I did like that one.

I loved (and always love my films) as a kid growing up these were some of the more dubious choices, I watched growing up
The Fly (The Goldblum one) A Nightmare on Elm Street films RoboCop Revenge of the Nerds Re-Animator (yeah I know) Child's Play Loose Screws Platoon The Lost Boys
Some films that are an odd choice for a kid
Married to The Mob Nuns on the Run The Pope Must Die The Cannonball Run movies Young Guns movies
The more age appropriate movies
The Goonies The Monster Squad Gremlins (though it was a 15 here in the UK) also the 2nd movie Spaceballs Ghostbusters An American Tail 2 (didn't own the first movie for some reason) All Dogs Go To Heaven ET Dick Tracy Superman 1&2
As you can tell I was allowed to watch what I want

None for me really. My parents never bought me VHS and there was no cable where I lived until I was 17 so I didn't record many movies. My girlfriend wore out 3 copies of Little Mermaid when she was a kid. After the second one was dead her parents had to search for a year to find another copy since Disney had put the film back in the vault.

Oh yeah....
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Epic Begins. First episode and others mashed together to make it full-length.
Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends: A Firestar is Born.
