1. Dragon Lee beat Jonathan Gresham. Gresham was heeling it up, hitting some cheap shots behind the ref's back and getting in the ref's face after a two count. finish saw Lee hit a Low Ki-esque double stomp in the corner followed by a running knee for a two count, then a second running knee for the win.

- Matt Taven (in a Red Sox jersey) out for a promo. He said winning the ROH World Championship last time ROH was in New York was the greatest night of his life...until he threw out the first pitch at a Red Sox game. Taven said his rivalry with Jay Lethal will come to an end tonight when he proves all the haters wrong and beats him. Kenny King comes out, says he doesn't care who Taven beat to win the title at MSG because he beat Jushin Liger and Great Muta that night. King wants to start some shit, and he wants his title shot tonight. Taven agrees, and his match with Lethal is now a three-way. King leaves and Lethal comes out and starts brawling with Taven until security separates them.

2. The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas) beat Coast 2 Coast (LSG & Shaheem Ali) and Soldiers of Savagery (Moses Maddox & Jasper Haun) in a Three-Way Tag Team match. SOS was disqualified and ejected from the match after putting Bruiser through a table. Bouncers won after hitting their finisher on Ali. post match The Kingdom ran in through the crowd and attacked The Bouncers with chairs. Vinny Marseglia lit up one of the Bruiser's cigars and said The Bouncers are the number one contenders for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, and everyone knows it should be them. Marseglia then put out the cigar on Bruiser's chest. O'Ryan grabbed the mic and called out RUSH for their match.

3. RUSH beat TK O'Ryan after the Bull's Horns. post match RUSH walked around ringside giving the Los Ingobernables fist to fans. he stopped to admire a fan with a replica RUSH mask. as he started the leave the fan jumped the barrier and attacked him, throwing him head first into the guardrail before tossing him into the ring and hitting the Bull's Horn. the fan then took the mask off, revealing himself to be Dalton Castle.

4. Matt Taven (c) beat Jay Lethal and Kenny King in a Three-Way match to retain the ROH World Championship. finish saw King hit a Lethal Injection on Lethal followed by a Royal Flush, but before he could get a pin Taven hit The Climax on King and covered Lethal for the three count. post match Lethal swallowed his pride and offered Taven a handshake, which Taven accepted...before hitting a low blow and leaving.

5. PJ Black & LifeBlood (Bandido, Mark Haskins & Tracy Williams) beat Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll, PCO, Brody King & Flip Gordon) in an Eight-Man Tag Team match. mid-way through the match Flip tried to bring a chair into the ring, but Williams got it and chased Flip around the ring and to the back with it. Bandido pinned King after a 21-Plex.

6. Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) beat the Guerrillas of Destiny (Toma Tonga & Tanga Loa) in a New York City Street Fight to WIN THE ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!!! tables, ladders, chairs, kendo sticks, etc. used. finish saw Mark hit a Doomsday Device on Tonga from off a ladder through a table.

Tasha Steelz beat Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky) and Karissa Rivera in a Three-Way match. before the match, Love ran down Kelly Klein and Steelz, and challenge Steelz to put her ROH Women of Honor World title shot on the line; Steelz accepted. Steelz pinned Rivera. post match The Allure attacked Steelz, until Klein made the save. lights went out, and when the came back on Maria Manic was in the ring with Rivera. Manic went to attack Rivera, but Sumie Sakai ran out to attack her, and Manic shoved Sakai down and put her in the Torture Rack. security out to break it up, but Manic threw them out of the ring.

5. Kenny King beat Dragon Lee. midway through the match timekeeper Amy Rose left the timekeeper's table and went to the ring and started yelling at Lee. finish saw Lee get a two-count after a double stomp and set up for a running knee, but Rose began yelling at him again, distracting him and allowing King to hit a kick for the win. post match, after asking Rose what took her so long, King got on the mic and told Lee that's what he can expect when King goes to CMLL next month.

6. Shane Taylor (c) beat Eli Isom to retain the ROH World Television Championship. great showing by Isom, who looked to have Taylor beaten several times. finish saw Taylor give Isom a powerbomb, followed by a knee strike, and lastly a package piledriver, only for Isom to kick out at the last second. Taylor then put him away with Greetings from 216.

7. Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll & PCO w/Flip Gordon) beat LifeBlood (Bandido & Mark Haskins w/Tracy Williams). finish saw Flip hit Bandido with Marty's umbrella when he ran into the ropes. Williams chased Flip to the back with a steel chair while Marty snapped Bandido's fingers and locked in the Chicken Wing.

8. RUSH beat Dalton Castle by disqualification. RUSH tried to recreate their MSG match, but instead of hitting the Bull's Horns, he stopped and kicked Castle straight in the face. finish saw RUSH try to drag Castle out of the corner to put him away, but Castle hit a low blow right in front of the match. post match Castle repeated attacked RUSH with a steel chair.

9. Alex Shelley, Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham beat The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia & TK O'Ryan) in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Shelley made O'Ryan tap out to the Border City Stretch

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: AUSTIN GUNN



The eighth and final entrant into Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament is a tough son of a Gunn.

Austin Gunn, the son of Hall of Famer Billy Gunn, began training under his father at the Team 3D Academy after graduating from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., with a degree in elementary education in 2017. He furthered his training at the ROH Dojo, and now he has an opportunity to earn an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

Gunn, 24, made his pro wrestling debut after just two months of training, teaming with his father on an independent show in Georgia in a three-on-two handicap match, which the Gunns won. In just his fifth match, Gunn competed in a battle royal before a crowd of 11,623 at the All In pay-per-view in a Chicago suburb.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Gunn realizes that his famous last name is a double-edged sword, and he’s determined to create his own path in the sport.

“I’m all about proving that I can hold my own in this business and making a name for myself,” he said.

Gunn is the least experienced participant in the TPT, but with his pedigree and desire, opponents would be wise not to underestimate him.

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: ‘NUMBER ONE’ BRIAN JOHNSON



It seems fitting that the first competitor announced for Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament is the man who refers to himself as “Number One” -- Brian Johnson.

Whether you call it confidence or cockiness, there’s no denying the loquacious Johnson has reason to feel good about his chances in the tournament, the winner of which receives an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title. He might even be the favorite.

The 6-foot, 210-pound native of Philadelphia is no stranger to ROH fans. A mainstay of Future of Honor over the past year, Johnson has made multiple appearances on ROH television, most recently delivering an impressive performance in defeat against 2017 TPT winner Josh Woods on this past weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling.”

Johnson, who has been wrestling on the independent circuit since 2007, caught the eye of ROH officials at tryout camps and was a member of the first class at the new ROH Dojo last year.

Any of the other participants in the TPT who overlook Johnson do so at their own peril. Then again, with his flashy robes, narcissistic attitude and gift of gab, Johnson is impossible to ignore.

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: DAK DRAPER



Possessing handsome features and a chiseled, 6-foot-5, 250-pound frame, Dak Draper certainly looks like a star. And once the bell rings, it’s obvious that he’s anything but all show and no go.

Draper claims he always stood taller, ran faster, and jumped higher than his peers growing up in Colorado. Now “The Mile High Magnum” is looking to use his considerable athletic ability to win Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament and thus earn an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

Draper, who was an all-state football player and state champion wrestler in high school, wrestled for Chadron State, a Division II wrestling power house in Nebraska. In addition to being the captain of the wrestling team, he had the ignominious distinction of leading the conference in penalty points given up during his senior year.

After college, Draper began his pro wrestling training at the WWE Performance Center before ultimately making his way to the new ROH Dojo and Future of Honor.

Draper gained attention recently for stepping up to challenge Silas Young during Young’s training session with the trainees at the dojo. After bullying one of the smaller students, Young took one look at Draper and decided he was done for the day. Young told Draper his opportunity would come in time.

That opportunity has arrived in the form of the TPT. We’ll soon find out whether Draper can capitalize on it.

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: DANTE CABALLERO



Dante Caballero left behind a life of wealth and prestige in Puerto Rico nearly four years ago to pursue his dream of achieving stardom in pro wrestling. As a participant in Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament, Caballero is now one step closer to making that dream a reality.

Born Edgardo A. Colon in the town of Orocovis, he comes from a strong political dynasty. Rather than continuing his family’s legacy, however, he became obsessed with creating his own. He changed his name, relocated to Washington, D.C., and enrolled in the MCW Pro Wrestling Training Center.

After making his in-ring debut in 2016, Caballero quickly established himself as a major player in MCW, one of the top independent promotions in the country. A former MCW TV Champion and two-time MCW Tag Team Champion, Caballero won the MCW Heavyweight Title last July and is days away from reaching his one-year anniversary as champion.

The 6-foot, 212-pound Caballero furthered his training at the ROH Dojo and has been one of the standouts in Future of Honor. Now he has his sights set on the TPT, the winner of which receives an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: HAITIAN SENSATION


With his multi-colored ring attire and abundance of charisma, Haitian Sensation’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious.

As much as the self-described “beads-wearing, wrestling dancing machine” enjoys a good time, however, he’s deadly serious about winning Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament.

The 6-foot, 240-pounder certainly has the talent to make a deep run in the TPT.

A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti who grew up in New Orleans, Haitian Sensation (aka Jude Jean) was trained by the Dudley Boys and Billy Gunn and has been wrestling on the independents for five years. He was extended an invitation to compete in the TPT after impressing ROH officials at the recruitment combine a few months ago.

Haitian Sensation said that ROH “is about to experience the biggest party of all time,” but he warned his fellow TPT participants that it will be anything but all fun and games if they find themselves standing across the ring from him.

“There will be Haitian in the house, so everyone must watch their mouth,” he warned.

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: JOE KEYS



Joe Keys knows something about winning prestigious tournaments.

The golden-haired native of Largo, Fla., captured Maryland-based MCW Pro Wrestling’s Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup in 2018, adding his name to the list of previous winners, which includes former Ring of Honor World Champion Adam Cole, 2015 ROH Top Prospect Tournament winner Lio Rush, Joey Matthews and Sami Callihan.

Now Keys is looking to win ROH’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament and thus earn an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

The 6-foot, 203-pound Keys is a member of the inaugural class at the new ROH Dojo and has been competing in Future of Honor since last year. He also has made a dozen appearances on ROH live event cards and wrested in the UK.

Before joining the dojo, Key trained at the MCW Pro Wrestling Training Center and Chikara Wrestle Factory. A former MCW TV Champion and two-time former MCW Tag Team Champion, Keys appears to have the necessary tools to make an impact in the sport. Can he unlock his potential by winning the TPT?

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: KEN DIXON



Ken Dixon is bringing his “History of Violence” campaign to the Top Prospect Tournament.

This year’s TPT field is shaping up to be perhaps the most talented group of participants in the history of the tournament, but there may not be a more dangerous competitor in it than Dixon. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound native of Butte, Mont., views himself an anomaly living in a world in which participation trophies and “snowflake individualism” are the norm.

Dixon’s philosophy is that an individual’s mettle rests solely upon the blood: the blood a man spills, the blood he makes the next man spill, the blood that runs through his veins. That’s what his “History of Violence” movement is all about.

Dixon refuses to reveal any details about his past, but it’s frighteningly obvious that anti-social behavior and sadism come naturally for him. What we do know is that Dixon trained at the Maryland-based MCW Pro Wrestling Training Center before furthering his training at the ROH Dojo. He’s won championships in multiple independent promotions, including MCW and Primal Conflict Wrestling.

It remains to be seen how far Dixon will go in the TPT, but his credo is: “Violence always finds a way.”

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: MAKITA



Makita is the first professional wrestler born and raised in Cameroon, Africa to ever compete outside of the continent, and he has sacrificed much to do it.

Back home, Makita was not just known as a rising professional soccer star poised to represent his country on its national team, but he also genuinely comes from royalty. Recognized as an uncrowned prince of the Bali tribe in Cameroon, Makita gave up that life to travel the world in pursuit of his dream to become a pro wrestling star.

His journey has taken him to the ROH Dojo and the upcoming Top Prospect Tournament, the winner of which receives an ROH contract a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

The 5-foot-7, 180 pounder has been wrestling since 2010. Makita, whose trainers include David Taylor and Robert Gibson, has competed in the U.S., Mexico and Nigeria, and will make his debut in South Africa in the near future. Perhaps the biggest match of his career to date saw Makita travel to CMLL in Mexico to battle 2016 ROH Top Prospect Tournament winner Lio Rush.

With a competitive drive and hunger for competition, the self described “Rock of Africa” is determined to be a hero and role model for all Cameroonians and ascend to the highest of thrones in pro wrestling. The TPT could very well serve as his launching pad.

HUGE NEWS FOR HONORCLUB MEMBERS REGARDING TV TAPINGS



In an effort to provide HonorClub members with the maximum experience, the company will now offer live streaming from all of its international tv tapings.

Beginning with Manhattan Mayhem this Saturday (July 20), HonorClub members will no longer have to wait weeks to watch the biggest matches from ROH’s TV tapings.

At 8 p.m. Eastern, HonorClub will live stream six matches from Manhattan Mayhem at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom, including the ROH World Title Match between champion Matt Taven and Jay Lethal, and the New York City Street Fight for the ROH World Tag Team Titles pitting champions Guerrillas of Destiny against The Briscoes.

For the fans in attendance in Manhattan, the show kicks off at 7 p.m. They will see four matches taped exclusively for episodes of the “Ring of Honor Wrestling” TV program, including a Women of Honor World Title Match between champion Kelly Klein and Karissa Rivera.

By car, it's about 45 minutes (perhaps up to an hour) from Cambridge to Lowell.

By public transportation, it gets tougher to get up to Lowell, at least twice as long. Incidentally that's why, even though a lot of good wrestling/music/etc. events seem to get to the city of Lowell, I can never go to them since I've never driven and need to rely on buses/trains for that kind of stuff.

I am not a Taven fan, but I have zero desire for another Lethal title run, maybe ever, but certainly not anytime soon.
