Pretty ambitious to talk up a next console now when you still had a year at least to announce it they're doing it so they dont lose ground to sony as they announced the specs to their next console already. Yea, but Sony has also said they are probably still like 2 years away I mean good on Xbox to start talking it up now with a date too even if it they may have to push it back but they wanted to get a leg up on Sony

Elden Ring looks much more my style than Sekiro.
Still want Bloodborne 2 though.

I mean, next-gen stuff is always cool, but my current console still looks damn good. This trend of constant "what's next?" is more than a little unnecessary.

As impressive as the specs sound, I think we're reaching uncanny valley territory in terms of model realism.
That said, ray tracing is probably the single biggest graphics advancement since HD resolutions became the norm. The lighting it creates is insane.
Also maybe I heard it wrong, but it sounded like they were hinting at backwards compatibility going all the way back to the original Xbox for this Project Scarlett.

So, Keanu made this a good presentation, otherwise it would be just OK for me. Lots of games, but most of them fall in the "would buy if there was nothing I was hyped about" or are multiplat (like Cyberpunk 2077).
Now... will Bethesda finally announce when in Azura's calendar is Elder Scrolls Legends gonna release on Switch?
EDIT: Also, way too much cinematics way too little gameplay.

By the time this new console comes out, the Xbox One will be around 7 years old. Considering we'll likely still see the Xbox One games being made after Scarlett comes out, it's going to have a long lifespan and in-line with previous generations (if not even longer). It just feels faster because time itself feels like it moves faster as we age. That and Nintendo sort of marches to its own drummer so they put out consoles midway through Sony and MS' lifespan.
Considering how poorly gameplay demos have gone in past E3 presentations, it's probably for the best.

So... is Scarlett the true start of the NEW GEN? Not just an ultra souped up XBone1?

Did they give a price point? If not, would be your guesses?

Microsoft came to play for sure. Loving a lot of those titles and genuinely makes me want one with that whole package of Game Pass stuff.
The Double Fine announcement made me scream “WHAT?!” at my phone. Really didn’t see that coming.
The Game Pass stuff at the price it is sort of took the wind from Stadia’s sails from me. Lots of stuff available at launch, potentially some really interesting titles from other publishers, free streaming on consoles. I dig it.

We know some of the tech under the hood and it's damn impressive stuff. That said, we don't even have a hardware mockup or finalized name yet. We just know it exists, some of the specs, and that Halo Infinite will be a launch title. Price point won't come until at least next E3. But unless some of this tech gets a lot cheaper to produce (especially ray tracing tech), I expect it and the PS5 to be really expensive.

Sony did a shrewd move in making the PS4 $100 less than the XBox I don't see that this time, both console running $500-$600 the least

However, current gen had its problems with 6 months of backlog with the system being sold out along with games taking two years to finally start to look the part I would assume Sony and Microsoft are going to get a head start on this. Plenty of people are going to hang on to their PS4 for a good while before switching over tho

-I like the idea of Microsoft having Double Fine under their belt. That might lite a fire up Tim Schafer's ass now that money is not a problem anymore.
-Keanu for Cyberpunk was cheesy fun and he presented it well. Can't say that for most celebrities that have the "I just want to get this over with and get my check" attitude. He looked like he was having fun being there. Cyberpunk 2077 no doubt is going to be a GOTY contender in 2020.
-I found it strange that they censored bad language and I think censored a middle finger during the Borderlands 3 presentation but all the gore from the Gears 5 trailers was ok. Maybe that's just an Americanized thing now.
-Kind of wished we got more information about Scarlett. We went from "Scarlett is really cool guys, it's coming soon" to "Scarlett is really cool guys, it's coming... sooner!". Also having Halo as a launch title for the system is a good call and having Scarlett come out of the gate swinging.
Overall I thought it was just ok. It was not awful to the point I was shaking my head but I really never had any "holy shit!" moments either.

Also, with Microsoft getting Double Fine, they also have access to Double Fine Presents titles as a publisher and a lot of those games can be Xbox Game Pass games from the gate which allows for way more diverse and original titles to be given that spotlight.
It’s a really smart move on their end.
