NFL Network trying to give Garrett a pass Saying Mason started it and should had backed down when his OL came in I don't really disagree with that take after watching several views of it. I think Garrett took it to an insane level that deserves punishment but Rudolph completely let his frustration of how badly he played override decision making during that. Still, Garrett was the one in control their is no excuse for swinging a helmet

I think it's laughable that Rudolph is not taking any responsibility for his part in what happened. Answering a question on what escalated it with "When he hit me with a helmet" Dude you are not an angel in this and you have a part stop playing the card that you didn't do anything.

Garrett is suspended for the season and postseason without pay That's the minimum, he could b suspended more than that since it is indefinitely

For him to act like a victim that didn't do anything wrong is pretty bad.

For him to act like a victim that didn't do anything wrong is pretty bad. From his perspective Garrett was holding on to him after a sack when the ball was no longer in his hands. Now once he sees the replay he should see that Garrett couldn’t see the ball and admit that misunderstanding and frustration on his part He was a victim he got hit in the head with a helmet a few weeks after getting knocked out on the field

What was the point of that other than to try to get him some?

Garrett yanked him off his ass like he was ripping his head off, dude is hot so of course he’s not going stop but he’s not going do shit cause his OL is in between them. Garrett was the one in control and swung the helmet, that’s a bitch move The OL were holding him back saying chill it’s over so for you to swing the helmet was out of line. You’re 2x this man height, him charging at you ain’t going do shit with y’all sandwiched between two people. If it was OL charging at him Then it still be nasty but I’d be more understandable. You yanked him off his was with the helmet in your hand and idc he was walking towards you, he wasn’t and couldn’t do shit and he wasn’t getting jumped until he swung the helmet

End of the day no one involved is innocent and Rudolph at worst should got a game but no doubt deserved a fine
You swung the helmet you get the punishment

He got hit questionably late and driven to the ground despite the game being well in hand, which not surprisingly got a response from him. Yes, technically the first extracurricular activity was his (yanking at Garrett's facemask, though I am certain he would argue that Garrett keeping him pinned to the ground was the first), but it isn't like it happened in a vacuum. If I were Goodell, I would have done the following: Rudolph: Fined Pouncey: Suspended for 3-4 games (which would get reduced to 1-2 games, most likely) Garrett: Suspended for 8 games (which would likely get reduced to 6 games at most) Ogunjobi: Suspended for 2 games (basically, it's worse than Mike Evan's cheap shot on Marshon Lattimore because Rudolph was without a helmet, had backed away from the conflict, and had just gotten clocked in the head with his own helmet)

Keep in mind Steelers frustration going be at a boiling point anyway due to the way some of their players got taken out as well with head injuries I agree with everything roger did except not possibly giving Rudolph a fine just because of instigation. The DT on the Browns pushing Rudolph too deserved his 1 game suspension as well. You see your mans getting jumped and you push the QB who just got hit and is outside the fight

Mason Rudolph should at least expect a fine for his part and from what I am hearing, he is bracing for one to come down. There were truly no innocent victims in this, just poor actions that tarnish a game.
Does that absolve Myles Garrett even a bit? Hell no, he did what he did and because it was the worst thing, he got the deserved punishment.
