Tell their own story. Take some familiar beats and flip it to their own narrative in the same way Spider-Man PS4 did last year Ah yeah that’s makes sense. But they seem to base the looks and at least kinda how tiny talks after the movie versions and it just kinda seems odd not to go all out and pay for the likenesses It will make the money back

Generic faces yeah, but it gives them that little disconnect they need to say they want their own story We probably get an expanded Civil War in a game that more resembles the comic and they have the freedom to bring in characters and tune them to whatever way they want. For example looks like young Hank Pym is coming

Which means he'll be our Ant-Man and not Scott Lang like he is in the MCU.

They have the freedom of many good sources between the comic and movies to influence this story in whatever way they want It worked damn good for the PS4 Spider-Man game and think it could here

It seems to be a games as a service title...not sure how I feel about that.
The fact they went out of their way to say no lootboxes, etc seems a bit fishy and I'm sure there's a catch...they will find a way to monetize it somehow.
I was hoping it would be a self-contained single player experience, but they couldn't leave well enough alone. They're going to release a half-baked mess and then "fix it" by making you pay for the rest of the game. Let's hope they don't go that route.
I'm not completely sold until I see gameplay and find out how they insert microtransactions.

I'm not completely sold until I see gameplay and find out how they insert microtransactions. Pretty sure there's mention of it being a single player experience as well. Co-op is probably just icing, least that's what I took from it. Honestly, the faces don't bother me. The movie cast is more well known but not the end all be all of the Avengers. I'm more annoyed by Cap's suit. Looks like crap. Some of the leaked rumors talked about customization, hopefully that extends to the outfits like in Spider-man. Iron-Man it looks like has at least another set of armor seen in sapce so that gives me hope. Love that new characters are free, think they threw the no loot boxes/pay-to-win to make them look better than EA and such. Nowadays it's a legit concern that a AAA title might have all sorts of micro transactions. Curious to see more, including actual frigging gameplay, soon.

I get being excited but that's why I haven't been to the movies since deadpool 1. I'd rather wait for dvd to avoid all that since I'm paying around the same anyways. I found a trailer on youtube. Game looks good, I'll wait and see how the story looks and what dlcs there is before preordering.

Why does Square Avengers Cap look like a WWE 2K CAW version using the motorcross CAW parts?

Up to four players
Killed my interest. Even if online content is optional, tge multiplayer aspects like a simpler story, less dialogue, fewer cutscenes, simpler gameplay, bullet sponge bosses etc make the single player worse.

Just watched the trailer and... Yeah, no interest in this. Feels like it's tying itself so closely to the movie depictions, in terms of appearance and tone, that it really has no personality of its own and the gameplay just looks like a bunch of scripted set pieces.
Granted the latter point was also the main takeaway I had from the initial Spider-Man footage and I ended up thinking that game was great, but this game doesn't seem to have anywhere near that one's level of individual identity and feels like it's entirely riding the movies.

I totally see where you're coming from, but I have to say that I get why they're tying it close to the movies- for a lot of people the MCU is the definitive version of the Avengers. They want to tap into that market as much as they can. Personally, I'd like to see it closer to the comics, but I think business wise it's probably the right call.
