Remember "Guess Who?"
This was a really fun game... as long as the friend you were playing it with was honest about answering your questions about who the mystery person was, anyway.
I love the "Game cards do not actually talk" legal disclaimer because you know some parent would sue them for false advertising when their kid complained the the cards didn't talk and move like in the commercial.

I love this game, my favorite as a kid. I could never get anyone to play with me though.

The disclaimer is right up/down there with She-Ra's "you can pretend!" Like girls don't know how to use action figures.

I never understood why there weren't more women. If you or your opponent didn't have a man, you knocked down like 90% of the guesses. Is there more now? I haven played since I was a kid.

I played with my brother as a kid, and one lady had hair you could argue was either platinum blonde or white. Since my brother and I didn't agree on what her hair color was, we couldn't finish the game. I think that was the last time I played it.

I'm impressed that a kid would know what "platinum blonde" was.

I'm impressed that a kid would know what "platinum blonde" was. That's me in hindsight. At the time, it was more like "HER HAIR IS WHITE, YOU FOOL!" and he was all "NUH UH, IT'S JUST REALLY LIGHT BLONDE!"

That's my girlfriend's favorite board game. I'll try to get her to play chess, Yahtzee, Battleship, backgammon, or something a little more advanced, but she always insists on Guess Who?

I remember there was some special they used to show on HBO or Showtime in the early 90s about "scams" aimed at kids and this was one of them They had interview snippets from children who were disappointed that the cards didn't talk I was a Kid myself at the time but I still thought they were dumb for expecting living cartoons to play with them when they bought the game

We got a more updated version for my niece a few years ago and the characters were more balanced. It also came with the option to play a version with animals, which was somehow significantly less fun.

It probably makes it a whole lot more fun now and the games last longer.

I think I was materialized from a Guess Who card. They named me David for a reason.
