Such an elaborate twist to ensure old guy is first boot I might be forgetting someone, but I feel like Kevin from season 19 might be the exception to the rule

Man alive, I didn't watch last night, but based on photos, it feels like every cast of BB looks exactly the same

{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Christie nominated Cliff and Kathryn. Christie has a final 2 deal with Tommy and both are trying to keep their previous knowledge of each other under wraps.
Sam won veto and the plan is to take Cliff off the block. While the initial plan was to get rid of Kathryn, it seems the target has shifted to Kemi for, um, reasons. She's not in the majority alliance, which is a shame because I like her from the little I've seen on the episodes and the feeds.
Ovi seems to be the pariah of the house right now, not that he's aware of that.
Because BB Twitter is talking about it, Jackson and Kathryn have already banged. I think it happened before the live feeds came on.

The optics of it all are just god awful.
Really Cliff being our greatest living human has given me any kind of good feelings about the season so far.

I like Ovi, Nicole, Cliff, and maybe David, though it's too early to tell. Everyone else is shit, especially Jack and his son. I really want to like Ovi and root for him, but he’s so naive to the point where it makes him hard to get behind. I still like him, but the boy needs to stop letting the a-holes walk all over him. Cliff and Nicole are both complete gems. Kemi, Jessica, and Tommy are fine too. Jack is one of the all-time garbage people on the show though. He, Jackson, Christie, and Nick can GTFO. Holly is pretty awful too.

Some people just can't stop themselves from overplaying or breaking down early in this game the last bunch of seasons. Crazy.
I honestly haven't latched onto anybody with positive feelings yet. I usually have a favorite by now and I don't.

I know this may come off poorly but I'm going to give my opinion on this real quick as someone who's watched this show for a long time. I don't really think Big Brother should still be on TV to be honest with you. This show debuted in what 2000? I know I may be off a bit but it was somewhere in there and that was really the height of trash TV, Springer, WWF was rolling strong all that kinda stuff. I feel like as the years have gone on this show that was really created for that type of TV has continued in an atmosphere that it doesn't fit in.
When it was made as a society we were not sensitive at all, we were into over the top ridiculous stuff. Now society has done a 180 and is overly sensitive. This show is not made for that generation at all. The whole concept of the show is to take a bunch of people who are different archetypes and put them together to see how it goes. It is supposed to create drama and fights etc etc...in today's world when that happens the social media mob goes crazy and wants people to lose their jobs and have their lives ruined etc etc. And that doesn't even account for the constant butt hurt juries we have gotten lately when it comes to all this.
I just don't think society is at a point right now to accept a show like this anymore. There's no middle ground, where we are today no one can accept someone might say something racist or sexist because they are ignorant or were raised poorly. Or just take it as wow that dude is a moron, it always has to go to outrage.
Big Brother pushes to many buttons for to many people to ever not have some type of shit storm in todays culture.

Definitely a good point. The fact is, no human has ever been 100% good about them. In fact, very few ever can even get close to 100. The difference is nowadays, there are many more new ways to figure out people's individual imperfections, especially when said people are on a 24 hours a day camera feed for the sake of a TV show. It's easier to pick out someone's figurative scabs and even exasperate them, like an actual scab. I feel the need to say this now about one particular person famous on the internet: JonTron. He said one bad comment against African-Americans in March of 2017 and since then, at least 50% of all comments made about him to this day has been about how really racist against black people he is. But, my point is... how racist against black people is he really? The only bit of evidence is that one comment, and while it sounds very damning, it was literally only one instance from him. He's never done a single thing before or since that would lead someone to believe he hated African-Americans, or that he was otherwise racist against them. Again, one comment has lingered against him very strongly for 2 full years and counting. (For the record, I myself don't pretend to know for absolute sure where JonTron actually lies in racism or immigration thoughts. How 'against immigration' is he really? Is it just those 7 countries from the initial ban of early 2017? Is it more countries than that? Is it any countries really? Did Jon just temporarily buy into the fear that a lot of Americans did at the time against those 7 countries? I don't know for sure. My initial point is, how can SO many people on Twitter be SO sure that JonTron hates blacks & is racist against blacks, based on ONLY 1 thing that he said? It's a very slippery slope, like you said.)

Counterpoint, as someone who doesn't follow Jontron and doesn't have a horse in the fight: I don't owe him a living or attention. If I follow him as a content creator, I can choose to follow or not follow his efforts whenever I feel like it. If he says something I don't approve of, there isn't a mandatory limit of racist comments or sexist comments, etc. that I should have to accept if I choose to let those comments effect my patronage. That's a personal choice and I don't owe anyone else an explanation. I'm an adult and can choose who I pay attention to. I'm not making him a pariah at any rate.

It depends. I get what you're saying, but the level of horrid racism/bullying in season 15 was off the charts and honestly, if that season had happened a bit later on, the show would have probably been shitcanned and rightfully so. I know people didn't like Paul's gameplay in the seasons he was on, but the cast of s15 were a ton worse. All that said, I just can't really get into the show like I used to knowing that if you play aggressive and cutthroat, you have no chance to win. I completely understand that jury management is a thing, but it's gone too far in the direction of "you better not hurt any feelings along the way!" It's a half million dollars. You're not there to make friends and sing campfire songs. Hate Tyler all you want, but dude should have won last year, and Paul should have won his second season, given that he managed to get anywhere close to the end with what should have been a giant target on his back. Were both guys saints? No. Did they outplay everyone? Yep.

It's basically a show where you need to stroke everyone else because if you ruffle any feathers you won't win, people get jealous and vote against you just because you got one over on them.
I'll be honest if I was on camera constantly I'm sure I'd say something offensive sooner or later, most people would. I think it's fine to react with wow dude said something dumb or that isn't a good look, it's another to basically try to get someone fired from their job because your feelings were hurt by something someone said on a show to someone you don't know.
To this point I haven't kept up super close so far with the new season but I did see someone saying Jackson is a bad person because when he had to pick 4 he picked 3 minorities and an old man, I thought that was reaching. It was like...he picked an old guy, a woman that looks out of shape and tiny girl and then the other guy......in a show like that picking people you don't think can win comps is smart, I didn't even think of the race angle until it was brought up by someone else.
Sometimes I really think people look for reasons to be offended.

Or just take it as wow that dude is a moron, it always has to go to outrage. Big Brother pushes to many buttons for to many people to ever not have some type of shit storm in todays culture. It's not so much that today's generation is too sensitive as it is that past generations were more ignorant. Controversies over houseguest behavior happened back in the day, too. It's just that you didn't hear about it as much because the live feed audience wasn't as large and there was literally no social media for people to voice their concerns. Big Brother and how people perceive it operates on a different level now than it did back in the early '00s because there are so many more avenues for fans to talk about it whether it be through Twitter feeds or podcasts, thus making houseguest behavior now more visible than ever. Plus, it's often left to the fans to call out toxic behavior because the show has a frustrating track record of whitewashing it. Big Jeff was homophobic, entitled jerk back in season 13 but still got edited as America's favorite. Evel Dick was a misogynistic, homophobic asshole but still got edited as the cool rock 'n' roll dad. Cody was a transphobic racist but still got rewarded with a spot on the Amazing Race. They only showed some of the bigoted comments on TV during season 15 because the backlash had finally grown so massive that it started to impact ratings. Adding on to all of this is that Big Brother has always had a pretty considerable following amongst women/LGBTQ+/people of color and the rise of social media has allowed them to talk about the show in ways they couldn't not that long ago. For the record, I don't watch this show to see likable people. Nobody is perfect. A likable cast can help, but it doesn't necessarily ensure great TV. Season 1 was populated with nice, normal people and it was boring. But there's a considerable line there, and it's not on the viewers to just be cool with it when a houseguest acts in a way that personally affects them. It's entirely on the show to cast better and hold their houseguests more accountable, which it has a history of not doing.

The Twitter BB fanbase will always be angry though and want to cancel someone. Even if you don't have any racists or bullies someone will be too cuthroat and that will ruffle feathers. Personally think the shows main problem is how very undiverse the cast is,I don't even just mean racially(income brackets, regionally, age, etc) but way too many cliqueish frat bro's and sorority girls every season. The Ovi's of the game wouldn't automatically be ostrisized with casts from 5-10 years ago where you hade a wider array of folks with life experience.

Sam won the veto again. I don't think he's using it this time.
