Is this the books or fanfiction? It's JKR, there's no guarantee that fanfiction isn't canon. *JKR presumably hits head* And wizards didn't have toilets, they just pooped in their robes and magicked away the excrement!

Once shows start devoting more creative energy to figuring out how to keep a couple apart, they're pretty much dead. Prime example - Castle. The writers dicked about so much, holding off for four seasons (including one whole season where Beckett secretly knew Castle had declared his love after she got shot, but pretended she didn't remember). Then, finally, they got together but the charm had worn thin and the writers still dicked about more, having Beckett take a job in another city, just to keep them apart. Another example is the JD/Eliott relationship in Scrubs, originally they got together, then broke up because it turns out they weren't right for each other then they screwed around for most of the show and it pissed me off to no end. What killed it for me was the end of season 3. They spent most of that year with JD being crazy about Elliot, and jealous of Shawn for being with her. And he worked his way up to a big declaration where he said "it should be me... I'm crazy about you and I want you to know that if I had the choice of hanging out with anyone in the entire world or sitting at home with you, eating pizza and watching a crappy TV show, I'd choose you every time." (Yes, I did find that clip on Youtube to remember the dialogue). Then she turns up at his apartment with pizza and asks what they're watching. It was a really well done moment, and it felt like the culmination of their 'will they, won't they' story. Which was then utterly ruined by JD suddenly realising "oh my god. I don't want her!" From that point on, the pairing were done. Writers pulling the trigger in a big, sincere way, then backing out is incredibly annoying. You want to go there? Go there, and have the balls to figure out where you go next.

They just noticed that they’ve been hanging out a lot, and enjoyed each other’s company and were in better places in their lives and went “hey are we dating again? Cool”.

Not really relevant but this remind me of something the DM did in my former D&D group. In all his games he ruled that all toilets/outhouses/poop buckets had a magical portal to the "shit dimension" built into them, which is why they never had to be emptied.

Oh...so you mean to tell me that Admiral Holdo actually HAD a plan this whole time, and didn't tell Poe and invalidated a whole hour of the movie because...why exactly? He was demoted during a life-and-death run for their lives?
All she had to do was say, "I have a plan, you're just going to have to trust me," or SOMETHING to stop him from doing whatever he could, including mutiny, to save the Resistance.

The biggest reason I stopped watching Once Upon A Time was due to the shows over reliance on Magical Amnesia. It was what the entire first season was based around, but once they fixed it they just kept going back to it, over and over again. I swear they went to the magical amnesia well at least twice every season, whether it was widespread or single-target, they just couldn’t move away from it. Also: “Oops, I made the villain too strong and there’s no logical way for the heroes to beat him. Better throw in a previously unmentioned magic artifact or new transformation that can put the main character on his level as quickly as possible!” Thank you. New season? Hey here's a new curse! Better get some magic quick or have someone learn their true potential or etc. etc. And oh yeah, it's probably all about Rumple somehow. One of the things that, while I stuck around for awhile, made the show go downhill really quick. You had nowhere to go after the relatively interesting and creative first season, and maybe some of the highlights of the few seasons to follow.

The boom mic operator in the final scene of "The Office." He was introduced, developed as a character, established as more than a friend to Pam who could potentially interject into her failing relationship with Jim, her knight in shining armor saving her from the warehouse worker who defaced her mural, and then demoted to nothing at all and deemed so irrelevant that he was totally forgotten about by the next episode. What purpose did he serve other than as a way for the writers to constantly bludgeon the audience over the head with the message of how the love between Jim and Pam is stronger than anything ever and how dumb were we the audience for thinking otherwise.
Also in that regard is Cathy from season 8 of "The Office." She strolls in as Pam's replacement in the newsroom and we're honestly supposed to believe that this gorgeous twenty-something has the hots for father/husband of the year Jim Halpert. Much like the boom mic operator, her existence was only to continue to establish that Jim and Pam are the infallible king and queen of Dunder-Mifflin. The episodes involving her and Jim are so unwatchable that I straight-up skip them while binge watching "The Office." Their on-screen interactions make Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch look like Bogie and Bacall.

Same with the assistant Jordan and her disappearance.

ABC's impatience with Twin Peaks, severely affecting the main mystery.

Ignore that most of season 8 and all 9 except for the last 2 episodes ever happened.

The entire Emily storyline from Friends was terrible, but it really got goofy following the wedding episode. Helen Bexdale got pregnant in real life, so to write her off, they turned her into a complete shrew and tried really hard to make her the bad guy in the story on the way out the door so they could justify people rooting for the Ross/Rachael pairing to happen again

Michael Brody in the JAWS movies simply refused to stay away from the sea. They brought that up on How Did This Get Made's episode on Jaws 3D. Not only does Michael have no problem being near water at Sea World, he doesn't even mention the fact that he and his family had been attacked twice by sharks. A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that the original script wasn't even a Jaws movie, it was altered and rewritten to fit the Jaws motif, so they never even thought to have a scene where Mike even goes "HERE WE GO AGAIN!"
