I loved all the early PPV themes used, except the Royal Rumble one used in 91 and 92. That one sucked.

You mentioned the original theme that got moved to the Royal Rumble and I think it's worth noting that it was composed by Jimmy Hart. He also apparently wrote the WrestleMania theme that was used for Mania's 6, 7, 8, and 9.
That said, I'm wondering if it was Jimmy Hart that composed the SummerSlam and Survivor Series themes and not Jim Johnston. Does anyone know?

It, the aforementioned Summerslam theme, the Wrestlemania 6-9 tune, and the 80s/early 90s Survivor Series songs all felt perfectly fitting for their respective events. Honestly after early 93, it felt like event theme songs fell off for a while, with the KOTR and Slam Jam Wrestlemania themes not feeling quite as memorable as previous examples.

Listen to this theme, and tell me if it's not better than the one used in 91 and 92. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC3I35r4OVQ

For me I associate the Rumble with a faster feel and that song is just a bit to slow to work as well as the 91-92 music.

Yeah, I honestly can’t tell which of the themes of the era were made from Hart or Johnston. You could tell me either and I’d believe you.

This theme is amazing. And it's one of those songs where it transports you to a different time. I remember my grandpa taped the hype show they did for 93 with the Mean Gene rundown of the card and the Steiners/Money Inc cage match. I watched it over and over again well into the 2000s.

As great as the 90-94 Summerslam theme music was I've always had a soft spot for the theme they used for Summerslam 95, 96 and 97. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-Cib6h1cFsThat's some good old fashioned 90's cheese right there.
