There's some irony here, given the origins of Clash of Champions.

Interesting because I thought they were going to be house shows.
AAA needs to bring some AEW talent because this is shaping up to be as one sided as the TNA "war" vs WWE in 2010.

My guess is that AAA and WWE have different enough audiences, but this seems like a mistake on AAA's part.

Man, AAA is about to show complaining WWE fans how good they have it. Can't wait to see what a hot mess this show turns into.

It really feels like Eric Bischoff went to AAA instead of Smackdown.

As far as running the shows I believe they are basically paid-shows, so not a lot of risk for AAA. The New York show is meant to tie-in with Mexican Independence Day holiday, hoping to draw an audience from those celebrating in New York area.

PW Insider is saying WWE is running a PPV on 10/6, so apparently, the head-to-head deal is only in September.

I imagine for the September date that they can't be picky with MSG and there will also be more Mexicans in the city that week for Mexican Independence Day so they went for it anyway.

I doubt AAA would be attempting this if it was their money on the line. But these are essentially sold shows.
