Language warning, though I don't think it gets too wild in the swears. Just in case, all the same.
I keep forgetting that he's married to Priscilla Kelly.
Additionally, he's definitely right about 205 Live, saying that the one promo video package AEW made for him did more for him than 5 years on 205 Live would have.
Talks about his reality show stuff, the MTV skateboarding videos, making up a story about bees to get on TLC, etc. Pretty funny stuff.
It's kinda funny. I only vaguely knew who he was a few months ago, but he's quickly becoming a favorite. No one's doing anything quite like him right now.

I really have no idea if this nihilist " im already half dead" attitude is a character or not It seems to at least have an element of truth, but he also seems to enjoy his weird life. He's very much a skateboarder, and skateboarders are weirdos.

glad he has a stable gig. One of the best pure athletes in the biz Yeah, like, I admit, when I first saw him, I was thinking Jeff Hardy-lite, to a degree, one of those guys who just falls on people and doesn't get what made Jeff's act work without being immediately forgettable, but no, Darby's actually got some talent and wrestling ability beyond the risky spots. He also makes some of his stuff just look more believable than a lot of guys do, like how he runs first or springboards before doing a Yoshi Tonic, so it makes the move look a lot less contrived and just clearly the other guy doing a backflip.

Still annoyed I didn’t see him when he was last in Dublin because he vs. Scotty Davis is pretty much a “up my wheelhouse” sort of match.

I'm glad I watched this. I've seen some of his Evolve stuff, but I thought most of his stuff all seemed to follow the same formula: Darby gets the shit beat out of him for 90% of the match, then wins. I do think he's getting away from that a little now though. This interview may get me into him a little more.
One thing he said in the interview that I really think AEW should push: he said he doesn't need to do flips during a dive because he thinks the point of the move should be the impact. That's a great angle to play: I'm not pretty, I'm effective. That would play into his character and take him far.
I'm interested to see where his career will go.
