It's kinda funny how deadly a finisher the DDT was at first and now it's just a run-of-the-mill move for a lot of people. I don't mind the regular version being a normal move but the enhanced versions should still end a match. This is what gets me. Yeah, Jake's DDT was classic, but when you have guys doing implant, tornado, jumping, and Rock's spinning version...how are those not match enders?

Any finisher can be reused as long as the wrestler doesn’t feel like a cheap ripoff of the original wrestler who used it.
For example... Ken Anderson using Jeff Hardy’s Swanton was okay. Roman Reigns using the Spear which is synonymous with Edge and Goldberg was okay. Ditto with Orton and the Diamond Cutter.
Owens using the Stunner and Jack Swagger using the Ankle Lock was NOT okay. It was cringeworthy.

End the spear. Outside of Goldberg and Rhyno it looks like a lame running hug.
Romans isn’t awful and it’s better than his Clark Kent punch. But annoying because it’s as automatic death as Hogan’s leg drop

I never got the impression that Kurt Angle was a Ken Shamrock rip-off. Jack Swagger on the other hand was an obvious Kurt Angle lite.

In all fairness, anybody who has had success in Greco-Roman wrestling, that goes into pro wrestling will be compared to Angle. Except Ziggler. I forget that he has those skills. He likes the flashier stuff.

I'm honestly okay with some finishers like the Superkick and DDT being regular moves. It kinda illustrates the idea that everyone can use any move they want, but only masters of the move can end with it. People who spam them to low effect aren't masters because they weren't trained by masters, and their reputation has them drilled in the "incorrect" way to do it, hence why it doesnt typically win matches for them.
Or that's my best attempt at a kayfabe explanation and they just make for decent high-impact moves that are good for mid-match false finishes.

None. Why keep restricting things people loved? Eventually, by "retiring" finishers you'll run out of options. Also, I am of the mindset, if it wasn't broke, why fix it? If this was the case, the figure-four would've been done away with decades ago.

Does anyone but Jake slap the opponent's back? There's your answer Yeah, I've seen lots of guys do that. Isn't the slap on the back like the, "Ok, drop down now."

Kevin Owens using a terrible looking stunner whilst literally acting like Steve Austin needs to go like yesterday. Literally feels like a backyarder. Yeah I really hate this too. I don't mind the gimmick at all, but using the actual move is ridiculous. Such an indie thing to do.

I don't think any move should be retired (Unless it's dangerous) just limited so they don't lose impact.
And have them end the f***ing match.

I don't mind people doing an RKO/Cutter, because I feel like wrestlers can do it decently.
However, the Stone Cold Stunner coming from someone that isn't Steve Austin just looks wrong to me. Especially Kevin Owens, who I am a fan of(the pop up was so much better for him.)
I don't see the FU/AA being used by anyone in WWE anytime soon after Cena is done for good.
The Pedigree is another great finisher, but most guys on WWE shouldn't do it. I was not a fan of when they banned the stomp and Rollins did the Pedigree. Of course, he was a heel so maybe I was supposed to dislike it? Lol

Most DDT finishers should be killed off as everyone else uses them as a normal move.

I didn't mind the superkick until the Bucks started overusing it every match. And then all the small indie guys that love the Bucks started overusing it. A year ago was at a indie show in Alabama. Before the show started the promoter was having a talk with all the wrestlers. "Look some of yall need to figure out a different finisher. Can't have every match end with a superkick."

Yup Chris Adams and Savannah Jack were the best to ever do it! I miss Savannah Jack. Loved him as a kid. Watching his matches now...he isn't nearly as good as I thought he was when I was younger.
