Sorry, everyone. We tried. LSU, Clemson, and whoever the fourth team is, it's up to you guys. The fourth team is gonna be Oklahoma, there's no reasonable argument as to them not getting it. That said, I think Clemson repeats. They struggled early, had a big scare in their 5th game, and since then they've gotten it figured out and whooped the shit out of everybody. They did the same thing last season. They're kind of the forgotten team, they're loaded, and Dabo has them pissed. I think they repeat.

So... 1. LSU vs. 4 Oklahoma? 2. Ohio St. vs. 3 Clemson?
I've got a Tigers vs. Tigers title tilt.
Also... Oregon vs. Wisconsin on Rose Bowl? Memphis vs. 'Bama in Cotton Bowl?

FSU hires Memphis head coach Mike Norvell as their new head coach. Damn, he's built some very potent, athletic offenses in Memphis. Could fizzle out at a bigger job like a lot of guys do *cough*Al Golden*cough*. But right now, I think that's a really good hire. They're still strong in recruiting skill position athletes, and stylistically Norvell's system opens things up and gets guys 1-on-1 in open space. If he can put together even a solid season next year, they're in much much better shape.
CFB recruiting is cyclical. If guys see systems they want to play in doing good to great, you get better recruits. You get better recruits, your system does better. Unless you're Ron Zook. So it's very easy for teams like Bama, OSU, and now Clemson to keep the wheels moving. But it's much harder for these former top programs (now very mid-tier programs) like FSU, Miami, Nebraska, Texas, Tennessee, etc to get the wheels turning, because you need results before you get recruiting clout. So you have to overachieve under a giant microscope to do well.

Shocked that the opening lines have Clemson as the dog vs. OSU. LSU's spread is also only gonna grow from here.

From week one, it's felt like we've been on a collision course between LSU and Ohio State. I don't see that changing in the playoff, I'll say the two top seeds advance.
Also, as an aside, can we talk about how insanely long the gap is between the semifinals and championship game? Sixteen days! It's the longest gap of any College Football Playoff in its five-year history, as the second-longest was 11 days in 2015-16. Why on earth do we need two-plus weeks between games?

ESPN must be withholding the reveal of the rest of the top 25 (and the rest of the New Years 6 bowls matchups) to 3 PM et so the Rest of the top 25/Non Playoff NY6 bowl matchup reveal hour could make a good lead-in to a women's Basketball matchup between U-Con and Norte Dame

Probably gonna go to Jacksonville to see the Hoosiers play in the Gator Bowl. Will likely be the only chance to see the Hoosiers in such an iconic bowl in my lifetime, and would be an excuse to say "I survived Florida".

Ole Miss's incumbent head coach Lane Kiffin greets fans and supporters as he arrives to officially begin his coaching tenure there. (Btw, Lane Kiffin for President. )

And what bowl will Alabama go to Johnny? The Citrus Bowl against Michigan on New Years Day This might be a first: I'm cheering for Alabama to win by 50+. I want Harbaugh crying and peeing his khakis in fear on the sideline.

I always find it weird that after the past few years people underestimate Clemson, they always come to play in big games.

Love me obscure or stupid sponsors for bowl games. Inject that Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl into my veins.
