Spider-Man 3 is a much, much more enjoyable film overall, but Venom from 2018 has a better version of the titular character.

Venom.
Spider-Man 3 has some funny moments, but honestly, so much of the movie is basically unwatchable to me nowadays. Sure, dastardly eating pie is amusing, but then you've got to wait through a long stretch to get to the next funny part.
Venom is a slow-ish start, and then a bunch of batshit stuff. I also found Eddie and Venom's back and forths to be a lot of fun.

Venom, Spider-Man 3 is not a good movie and Venom is okay.

Hmmmm...Topher Grace or Tom Hardy? That's a tough one.
Spider-Man 3 was deep fried horseshit.

I liked Topher Grace as Venom but he wasn't necessary for that movie and was basically thrown in. If he was introduced int he 1st or 2nd movie and then became Venom it would have come across better tho Spider-Man 3 has its own problems besides that
Anyway, Hardy did a good job as Venom and they gave the symbiote a personality of its own so yeah it is the Venom movie

Man I was really hesitant to say Venom was the better movie and I’m surprised so many agree.
But it’s weird. Cause Venom ain’t all that great either. But Spidey 3 is just this weird spectacular mess.
I kinda like what Raimi was going for Venom. At the time it felt more USM putting Eddie on an equal footing with Peter..but it didn’t work. Probably cause of the movie.
And I think Tom Hardy goes unsung in portraying that Eddie Brock character..or at least for the 90s for me, I dunno.

As far as the movies themselves go, Spider-Man 3 is a better movie. I think the emotional scenes actually work, the villain schemes actually make some sense. The birth of Sandman alone is better than anything going on in Venom.
That being said, talking character v character, Tom Hardy's Venom blows Topher Grace's "Venom" out of the water.

Spider-Man 3 gave us some of the most classic memes of all time.
Venom had...stuff...I don't know, I never finished watching it because I could't make it past the boring and forced relationship stuff during the beginning.
SP3 for me, please.

I was just surprised so many people decided to put down money to see Venom after what was maybe the worst trailer I’ve ever seen.

Venom seemed to not know if it was a sci-fi/horror film or a superhero film, and therefore was very schizophrenic (though I did like the design of the Venom outfit at least).

I gathered after seeing so many people on this very board say how garbage the trailer was, then post opening weekend reviews.

The Venom film is a better representation of the character, but I actually kind of prefer Spider-Man 3 as a movie because of how silly bad it is. James Franco’s hammy acting in the “How’s the pie?” scene and THAT Peter scene make it fun for me.
But yeah Venom is the better film. I just have s better time with 3.

Hmmm lets see.
Never managed to finish Spidey 3,even though I have owned it since the day it hit home video. But have watched Venom two times now.
Venom wins.

Venom.
The only thing remotely redeemable about SM3 besides the Sandman scene is James Franco trying his hardest to ham it up.

I’ll go with SM3. As much of a mess as it was with multiple villains and emo Peter, Venom just felt soulless to me.
