She did a laughable acting at WWE even at wrestling standard.
Her voice acting was plain terrible.
Who in their right mind would cast her?

I thought there was a thread on here about the rumors of who Marvel is looking for as far as casting for the X-Men, but I can’t find it, so I assume this is the correct place.
Rumor I read was Marvel wants to change things up with their X-Men and may be going with a black Magento/Professor X combo. At first I was like “eh,” but then I was thinking, we can’t do a WW2 origin for them AGAIN, they’re too old to fit into the current universe that way. But they COULD do a segregation origin story. And then I read the rumor that Denzel Washington is who they want for Magneto, and honestly, that’s just f***ing perfect. Denzel as a man whose survived horrible racial intolerance growing up would be an awesome Magneto.
The second rumor was Will Smith for Professor X, but I’m not feeling that one at all. I have two names at the top of my list though. First, Laurence Fishburn. Let’s be honest, he already played Professor X in the Matrix. He’d be an awesome Professor X. But, if not him, then Idris Elba would be perfect. I thought I read somewhere that he’d love to take a more featured role in the MCU. And honestly, a black American Magneto brought up on racial tension during the 60s and beyond going against a black British Xavier who didn’t experience what Magneto did would be a way better dynamic than Professor Will Smith could offer.

I hope that Will Smith casting is just a rumor... cause... well he wouldn't be playing Professor X he'd be playing Will Smith... cause that's all he really does nowadays.

Well, I have believed for awhile one way of updating Magneto would be make him a black man who witnessed his mother get murdered for something racially related in the 60’s or 70’s. I’m all for the idea of Magneto and Prof X being black, could do some very interesting things with that

The second rumor was Will Smith for Professor X, but I’m not feeling that one at all. I agree, but the soundtracks will be good. Big Xavier style all in it Getting bald with it NANANANANA NANANANA NANNANANANANA Or Will Smith can dance next to a CGI Colossus like in Deadpool.

Yea, but that worked because he had a shit ton of charisma and screen presence which allowed to be a smart ass in a lot of roles but none of them really felt the same

Denzel as Magneto would be f***ing mind blowing. Will..eh. He could play subdued but doesn’t ..doesn’t really seem he’d bring anything to the role. I’d prefer someone like Jamie Foxx to Will, honestly.

There are, unfortunately, no shortages of cruelties within which you could place Magneto's origin.

Considering both men were legit inspirations for both characters, this is about as good of an updated variation as you can get for the two of them. And Washington as Magneto? f*** yeah. Please and thank you.

So the question of Denzel as Magneto then becomes do you throw out Magneto’s Jewish origin?
Not that there are not black Jews, but it becomes a little muddled if you’re going to go for both, which then distracts from overall.

While his heritage isn't that major of a part of his character outside of his backstory, you can just as easily leave it in. Not like you'd have to even mention it, unless you wanted to. Something as simple as a visual clue, like something Mag owns having Jewish iconography on it, could suffice. Unless you want to go whole hog into it and have him mention things like having to deal with neo-nazis his entire life, which you could (even if just as a throw away line lumped together with the other injustices he faced during the civil rights movement).

Yeah, I agree you don't really have to go full force in it You don't really need to go full on backstory. If you have Denzel playing that role, you let him do what he does best and act the shit out of him. Let the anger in his voice show the injustice he has faced and why he wants to make things "right"

The X-Men are my comic lifeblood (my last username was even X-related for years). I like Will Smith. I love Denzel Washington. I do not want them as Xavier and Magneto respectively. Denzel as Xavier? Absolutely. But if Marvel move Magneto away from being Jewish Holocaust survivor Erik Lehnsherr just so they can diversity cast? Screw that.
And no, the origin doesn't need updating as Chris Claremont specifically put into words that Magneto is a man "...much older than his appearance would suggest -- an secondary effect of his mutation". That clearly shows that Claremont, father of the X-Men as we know them, felt so strongly about Magneto's backstory that he adjusted his mutation to allow it to remain intact.
Now, after typing all that out, I also remember that Disney were too chickenshit to even show swastikas in Captain America: The First Avenger (You know, a WWII movie taking place roughly 75% on Axis territory). It's insulting to the audience, but they did it so maybe they really do want to f*** Magneto up. If they do, they're no better than Fox in my opinion.

They could use She-Hulk to help promote the service: "If you dont subscribe to Disney +, I'll come to your house and rip up all your Deadpool comics"

No thank you. I like her a lot too, but once Rosario said she was down, I'm anti-anyone else in the role.
