I was going to come in here defending my guy Drake, but then I remembered he’s had more slaps than the Beatles, so he doesn’t need my defense. He’s already winning. Dude needs to stay away from Chris Brown though. f*** Chris Brown forever. And probably stay away from the 14 year olds, too.

Never got why this dude was/is so popular. Just always found him to be wack and phony. But clearly, he's doing something right with how much he sells, so more power to him.

Drake's pretty much the spokesman of the average black/mixed Canadian/American these days. What he does, thinks, says, how he acts, that's how most 25-35 year olds are these days.

Going to be people that will check out his work just because of the tat. I got a chuckle out of it personally. Harmless fun.

After calling Draymond Green trash to his face on national TV, Drake is cool with me.

I hate to admit to thinking that is pretty damn accurate.

Blah blah yeah subjective and all that blah blah.
I don't even feel right saying Drake's name in the same sentence as The Beatles. F*** outta here. While My Guitar Gently Weeps main melody > all the dull ass Fruity loops beats in your whole career.

Drake's alright with me, though he hasn't had a great album from top to bottom since Thank Me Later.
Never really listened to the Beatles, and the only one song I really liked was the one The Simpsons made an episode of with Grandpa Simpson.
In this day and age for music, how fickle everyone can get, it is surprising for one to stay in the conversation, let alone break records that orginally thought would never be broken. I thought MJs record for Number 1s on one Album would never be touched then Katy Perry said, "Hey I could tie it!"
Records are made to be broken, so props to Drake. The tattoo not so much lol. But hey it's not like hes celebrating in the streets like the Raptors won back to back championship if that's a win lol

I think I've heard 2 songs by the guy, and I can't tell you a single thing about them other than they sucked. That's two more songs than I've heard. I don't exactly live under a rock, but when I saw a headline about this my first reaction was "Who the f*** is Drake?" Where are you posting from?

What percentage of those records that he broke were from solo released songs/albums etc, and how much was from collabs / guest appearances on songs?
The music industry has changed so much that I don't even know if it's a fair comparison these days. Didn't Nicki Minaj or someone break a whole bunch of records set by artists releasing solo / band material, just by doing a billion guest appearances on other people's songs?

England, in the year 2019. I keep abreast of what is happening in the world, and have a reasonable grasp on pop culture when it comes to movies and TV, but given I don't listen to music radio nor do I frequent clubs, I do have some blind spots. Out of curiosity I looked up Drake's discography to see if anything might ring a bell from the last ten years, and while I recognise a number of his collaborators, my question regarding him remains the same. Probably my only exposure to him is when people here name drop him.
