Over the past 2 years a group of us,4 to 7,have been gathering 2 times a month to hang out and play board games.
We started off playing Clue,Operation,Go Fish,Uno and Hungry Hungry Hippos. But now have been branching out and getting other games. Every month we all throw in 5 bucks. Then use that money to get more games. I have been hitting lots of thrift shops and places like Dirt Cheap to get games.
A few months ago got a Mario Kart themed Monopoly game, was on clearence for 5 bucks. And it is our most played game now. There is a few changes to the rules from normal Monopoly. And a normal game lasts 2 hours tops.
So what are some board games yall enjoy? And I need ideas for some new games to play. The group of use ranges in age from 28 to 45. And nothing super complicated. Like I would love to play Settlers of Catan but know half the group wouldn't be interested. So any games yall think we might enjoy please post them. It helps if the game is one we can find in a store or on Amazon. Cause we do not have a board game store in the area.

My girlfriend and I are doing another game night this week. She lives in a different state since she is going to school for her PhD in Vermont. I’m bringing her board games up since I am moving and need to store some things with her to make the move less stressful. I’ll be bringing some board games I got her over the years like Risk, Clue, a 10 in 1 checker/chess/etc game, and Monopoly which I’m pretty sure is actually mine, but don’t mind if it stays with her for a while.
Despite neither of us being Harry Potter fans we’ve played Harry Potter Clue a lot with another friend. I’ve yet to win and am pretty sure she just likes to play it since she almost always wins.
Other than that some of those card games like Cards Against Humanity can be a lot of fun especially in bigger groups. I’d love to happen upon something like Mario Kart Monopoly, but haven’t found anything that random at a reasonable price yet.

'Codenames' is great. Kids can play it. Adults can play it. Anyone can play it really. I've also yet to meet anyone who didn't enjoy it. You can play it with two people, you can play it with 20 people. IMO it's a TTG staple.
Do you think you guys like social deduction games? Cause games like 'Coup' and 'Resistance' can be a lot of fun. Though certain personalities might get heated by the deception gameplay. I've seen it happen a lot. It can also be hilarious so long as it doesn't get too hot.
I also like 'Gloom' and 'Love Letter' since you don't need a whole lot of people to play them and they move fairly quickly. Good for times when you have smaller turnouts and you don't want to play anything too serious.
I also really enjoy 'Red Dragon Inn.' It's got drinking and gambling elements that you can add to the meta gameplay if you so choose. But also has good opportunity for some light roleplaying which IMO makes half the enjoyment of the game.

Good games so far yall. I would love to get this group to play stuff like Ticket to ride or Diplomacy. But those games are a bit too complicated for most of the group. It doesn't help that besides me when we gather for game night people are drinking wine or mudslides.
I did find my early 70s Yogi Bear board game earlier. Might bring that next time to see how it works with a big group.

Well I was going to suggest Catan. It's a great game. Too bad your group wouldn't get into it.
Tsuro is a neat sort of tile based puzzle game (I've only played the mobile phone version)
Carcassone
Dominion - more deck building based than board game, but might be too complicated for your group
Pandemic - working together to defeat a worldwide pandemic
Smallworld - fantasy themed conquest game, don't remember much about it but I remembered enjoying it. Played with a casual crowd so I don't think it was too complex

Exploding Kittens is a fun card game that’s easy to learn The Oregon Trail card game is also really fun Relative Insanity is basically redneck Cards Against Humanity.

Ticket to Ride really isn’t complicated at all. If you can play clue or monopoly you can handle it. I’ve played it with 8 year olds and grandmas.

Ticket to Ride really isn’t complicated at all. If you can play clue or monopoly you can handle it. I’ve played it with 8 year olds and grandmas. I know it isn't complicated. But most of the group we play with would find it complicated. And I rather not drop 25 to 35 bucks on a game we will end up playing one time. 4 of the 6 that are in the group consider Risk a complicated game. But to them any game with lots of pieces is complicated. Also thank you to everyone that has offered suggestions. I have been looking up the suggested games then sending videos about them to the other people in the group. We are talking about next session planting a camera on a tripod aimed at the table and just recording us playing whatever game we play. No idea if this would be something other people would watch. But have seen similar videos online that seem to have a decent following. Oh if anyone knows where to get the booster pack karts for Monopoly Gamer Mario Kart for cheap let me know please. We really want to get all the karts. But looking quickly at Amazon it seems some of the karts are 20 or more bucks. And yes I know about boardgamegeek and it's database. I went and looked up the abilites of the karts we dont have. And sure we could just use a lego man or whatever to be the karts. But we all agreed we want the actual pieces. Waiting on 2 people to get over to my place. We are planning on playing College Bowl VCR game,a NCAA VHS based board game I got last year. ANd if that doesn't take too long trying out the Lizzie McGuire What Would Lizzie Do game. Got it earlier this month. The game looked like crap. But watched a playthrough video on youtube and it appears to be a decent game. With the only drawback being to do decent at the game you have to have a bit of knowledege about the tv show the game is based on. Maybe one of yall older folks can help. I clearly remember when I was in 3rd or 4th grade getting a buddy for his birthday this Frankenstein Monster based board game. No clue what company put out the game. It was 1983 when I got the game. It was set in a castle. The players race to the center of the board. First player to reach the center gets to activate Frankenstein's monster. Starting with their next turn they take control of the Monster and move him around the board trying to kill the other players. And this player wins if they kill all the other players. The players that aren't controlling the monster have 2 ways to win. The easiest was to make it to the center of the board. Then go all the way back to start. Supposedly when you get to the center of the board aka the lab,you set up an explosive device. And when you make it back to start the castle explodes killing the monster and every other player. Or if 2 or more players worked together they could take out the monster by having the right cards and the monster being on the right space. Once the monster is dead the first player to get back to start wins. I am hoping one of yall knows the name of this game. I have been wanting to play it again for years. Only played it a few times at that buddy;s home. ANd I have contacted him and everyone else that was at the party. No one remembers the name of the game. Even had my buddy's mother go thru her pics of his birthday party and the game never shows up in the pics. Anyways keep up the game suggestions. We try to get at least 2 new games each month. And are always looking for new stuff to play.

Adding a couple more that came to mind: 'Articulare' and 'Time's Up' are fun trivia style games. 'Snake Oil' is a really fun improvisational game, where you take turns where one player takes on a character role and the rest of the group tries to sell them a product made out a combination of words they have from cards in their hand. 'A Fake Artist Goes to New York' is a fun social deduction game that involves team drawing. Plus you can actually play the game with stuff you may already have at home. You just need a copy of the rules, which I happen to have here. Maybe one of yall older folks can help. Scattergories, or Boggle. They're good options if your group likes word based games.

Oh, and with your Frankenstein game question, it might be worth going to the boardgamegeek subreddit. If anyone can identify it, it's probably them.

My favorite is Battleship, but that’s strictly a 2 person game. Life? Sorry? Boggle? Scrabble? Trivial Pursuit? I love Life but everyone else in the group hates it. Sorry we got the Parker Brothers bootleg version. Boggle and Scrabble, well the people that host the party got Words with Friends and hate it. But most of this group can't spell for crap LOL. Trivial Pursuit is one I keep trying to find for a decent price. Can't find just the basic version. Keep finding the themed versions. I love Battleship and am a bit surprised no company hasn't made a 4 player version.

I will second Tsuro being easy to play fun.
Forbidden Island or Forbidden Desert might be casual enough and they are co-op.
Spyfall is always fun and can be played by anyone.
Camel Up could be a good one to try.
Heroquest/Space Crusade?
