Been an off and on player since vanilla WoW and I'm pretty excited jumping into some old school gameplay. Thinking me and my friends will be playing on Atiesh and Herod. Horder player here, Halvic will be my primary name on both servers if you want to say hi/group up.

I mostly level alts in the regular game... 3 servers full so far... So I might make a classic one, its not like they are charging me extra to do it. I do miss the old talent trees, every level seemed like so much more of an achievement when you could allocate that point! I'd make a shaman just so no one would invite me to groups. *nods*

Most interest I have in WoW Classic is morbid curiosity. Never played Vanilla, so instead of taking a nostalgia trip, I'll just be playing an older version of a game I'm already kinda burned out on without a lot of the quality of life features I take for granted. I'd be a lot more interested in a Wrath legacy server because of how ridiculous Death Knights were (All 3 specs' talent trees could tank or DPS and also could DW or 2H in either role depending on build) as well as being able to experience some major story content no longer in the game (Battle for the Undercity).
I'll still give it a shot, because morbid curiosity, and I'll roll a Night Elf Rogue (my first ever character in WoW) on the RP server, but I can't see myself playing it long term.

I'm rolling Horde (Troll Shaman) on Bloodsail Bucs the RP server. Always like the atmosphere of RP servers. If you avoid Goldshire they are a cool place.

I'll be honest I think a lot of people that want it are looking at it through nostalgia goggles and are going to be blindsided by just how user unfriendly it was in Vanilla WoW.

I'll be honest I think a lot of people that want it are looking at it through nostalgia goggles and are going to be blindsided by just how user unfriendly it was in Vanilla WoW. I think so too but I also think a lot of people miss it being a bit more challenging and less user friendly, if that makes sense. Like, I'm dreading and also somewhat excited to roll a priest remembering how difficult it was to level as one, especially when you're also trying to be a primary healer and not shadow.

My first two characters (I leveled them simultaneously) in ye olde WoW was a disc troll priest and a marksman troll hunter. Troll all the way! I'm not an expert on patches and what not so I don't know if this will be rolled back far enough to when my priest was like HOT WAND ACTION for most of their off damage. I still have my troll hunter, but I rerolled my priest into a panda... Then remade the character as a zandalari troll.

Wow Classic is going to run on the latest Vanilla patch (which should be 1.12.1) in terms of bug fixes and class balance. Even though all the raids in Vanilla were available at this point, they'll instead be released in a schedule on Classic so players have time to run each as "current" content until the next raid is released.
Of course there are some hardcore Vanilla purists who claim this is some kind of betrayal since they aren't going to be going through Vanilla's patch progression, but no one pays attention to them.
