He did? I haven't heard anything yet tho I haven't looked I wonder what his beef would be considering a successful appearance for him and AEW tho as you said it could have been BS officialfan.proboards.com/thread/595698/omega-bucks-address-njpw-grievances?page=1Here ya go. Kenny made allusions to NJPW screwing over his travel this year, and demonized them in that Sans/Flowey Undertale package on AEW's Halloween episode, but it really seems like much ado about nothing. It mostly seems like the Bucks & Kenny are upset that they didn't get the spotlight as they exited, creative differences, etc. I really enjoy Kenny's wrestling, but I agree he probably overestimates himself. New Japan ended up using Kenny's video for his entrance at Wrestle Kingdom. I don't even think they edited it much, might have even left in the steroid bit, which was pretty harsh. As far as what Kenny wanted from that match, him and Tanahashi still dictated that storyline in their promos and in the match itself. I do agree that New Japan went heavy with the narrative that they weren't around and even wrestlers not involved in their matches at WK like Naito and Taichi fed into that agenda, but they were leaving, this was New Japan's way of self preservation and they had to look out for themselves. We have seen what happens when wrestlers call their own shots on the way out, it affected WCW and was the complete reason for the Montreal Screwjob. New Japan knew about AEW going into Wrestle Kingdom, in fact they knew in October. The fact that Kenny and Cody went into Wrestle Kingdom as champions and the Bucks needlessly got a title match at Wrestle Kingdom, despite being completely unnecessary in the tag title match, shows New Japan didn't just throw them out like garbage. Hell they gave Kenny the main event at the Tokyo Dome and the whole "feeling nothing" thing is garbage, Kenny was tearing up on his way out to the ring. Personally from watching this video, I feel like most of the anti-New Japan sentiment is coming from the Bucks and you can just tell when they talk about their feelings at the Tokyo Dome, Kenny seemed torn, but the Bucks seem to push him in their direction. It's very clear how Matt and Nick feel about New Japan, but while Kenny may not have liked the way things played out in the end, he even says he always wanted Japan to be part of his career.

I want that Liger shirt that the wrestlers were wearing at the ceremony. I hope it goes on sale online somewhere in the U.S.
I’m sure it was probably just for them, but PWTees or someone could sell it.

The young bucks were not that over in japan. They main evented in the states but were always open card filler in njpw. They came off as angry and bitter. NJPW not reaching out to Kenny seems a bit daft But part time kenny in njpw or ddt or ajpw would be killer

And I feel like The Bucks were as big deal as a pure tag team can be in NJPW.Which is not saying much

Tama is a new japan trueborn.
I would rather see kenny in new japan. I would have loved to have seen Hangman develop there.
I prefer the moxley in njpw because of his opponents in new japan are better than in aew.
f*** i want pac in new japan in the never division

He was a good change of pace in the G1 too. Pac would be pretty awesome in New Japan as well. But in the past he's had issues of putting talent over and that would be a big problem. However, I don't know if he's been better in AEW, as I don't closely follow the product, no cable, I just watch Dark once in a while.

He still mostly wins, but he's put over a few people like Page and Kenny, and is probably about to put over Moxley in an upcoming match. He is a lot more relaxed about it when he's not actively a champion, which is where he gets protective about losing.

So I haven't bothered coming to watch New Japan since the atrocity of Royal Quest on Fite TV, but I have registered this month just to watch Wrestle Kingdom, basically, because... Okada/Ibushi and Liger's final matches? Hell yeah. So I know little about New Japan and I'm going to write my random thoughts down here:
Jan 4th show: - So I see that New Japan like booking old f***s for their Mania too, but they're smart enough to put them in a clusterf*** tag match instead of main event spots? Fujinami looked... slow. But every single one of these guys looked better than Taker these days. - Commentary in New Japan is kinda... dull isn't it? - So when I watched Royal Quest, I was a bit disappointed in the largely perfunctory tag matches on the undercard. I'm told that this is kind of how NJPW works, and that you have big tag matches on the undercard to keep talent fresh for when they have big singles matches, and then the upper card is the good stuff. Does this mean that these opening matches never really mean much of anything, discounting Liger's retirement match obviously?
Ran out of stuff to say mostly after this point because the matches started heating up, but it is quite hard to get invested when you know little about the characters. I'm not sure whether New Japan's overall presentation of its product is for me, basically, but the wrestling is often outstanding.

I always skip the opening tag matches of New Japan shows. They are all meaningless filler. I also don't watch the "Road to..." shows. Unless they're in Korakuen , some fun little matches happen on those shows sometimes.

I wouldn’t call the opening tags pointless; they’re often where you see character progression happening, or new feuds getting kindled, or new challengers for titles established.
That said, there’s a limit: if you’re watching a long tour and seeing a lot of similar matches each day (remember, this is a live events-based company, so sometimes there’ll be a house show feel to the prelim tags), eventually they’ll run together, and I wouldn’t blame anyone for not paying as much attention to those. However, bigger shows like Wrestle Kingdom and Dominion rarely have prelim tag matches; this year was different since it was a two night show and they wanted to make sure everyone got a main card spot on at least one night.
Also, at this WK the old guys were exceptionally old because it was Liger’s final matches, and he wanted people there who were friends and rivals from all through his career, basically a celebration of 30-plus years in the industry. Most of those guys don’t even work for NJPW anymore, but it was worth it for the historic moment.
