I wonder if he will address the rumors about him talked about in the Ring of Hell book. I read that book so long ago I don't remember this. What was the rumor?

Arn would ,allegedly, use his position backstage to get "Favors" from various women in WCW. IIRC,been a few years since i read the book,Major GUnns is one that this was pulled on.

Today's episode is "Leaving Crockett" In September of 1988, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard left Jim Crockett Promotions to join the World Wrestling Federation. In this episode we examine all of the details surrounding that decision. The whos, hows, whys, and whens are broken down in great detail for the first time ever. You'll hear specifics of what exactly was frustrating half of the Horsemen, when it started, why they stayed as long as they did, and what ultimately led to their departure. Was it cash? Or was it creative? Who reached out to who in order to make this jump happen? When did Arn meet Vince? What was the meeting like? What did Flair think when he found out they were leaving? What did Dusty say when they gave notice? Plus we "fantasy book" if Arn and Tully hadn't left when and how they did. If you're looking for lots of specifics and details never before revealed about the end of Jim Crockett Promotions, this is the episode for you! www.arnshow.com

I listened to last week’s episode and today’s episode. So far it sucks. Hearing Arn telling stories is like watching paint dry. I understand why Bruce would mock the idea of having a podcast with him.
It’s amazing how one of the best promos of all time would suck as a podcaster, it’s kinda like I was excited for a Nick Bockwinkle shoot and that shit was boring.

I'd have to agree unfortunately, Arn is one of my favorite promos but I couldn't get through the first 5 minutes of the podcast.

It’s amazing how one of the best promos of all time would suck as a podcaster, it’s kinda like I was excited for a Nick Bockwinkle shoot and that shit was boring. Arn just isn't a very animated person the way that Bruce, Tony, and Bischoff are. Tony leans in hard on the "foul mouthed old pervert" shtick. Bischoff is basically a wrestling carny who just happens to know TV exec doublespeak. Bruce was right there during both "prime" eras of the WWE in a creative capacity. Arn is just a different animal entirely, and he comes across like a pretty responsible and down to earth dude who the worst confirmed thing about him was that he enjoys a lot of beer. He's very dry and factual when he's telling stories, and if he wasn't willing to bury Grizzly Smith, I suspect he's going to be as middle of the road as possible. I'm hoping that it's just a matter of "feeling out" like it was for Tony Schiavone. I mean, right now the Podcast is like a 5/10, and 2 of those points are due to Arn's actual personality shining through a bit in the Blue Chew commercials.

Reminds me of one of those old guys you'd meet at a bar and just listen to him tell stories. I've just always been a sucker for that kind of storyteller.

I kind of disappointing, that the next episode is not going to be about the WWF run. I thought that would be a good part 2 to this week's episode. I can't wait to hear about the end of the run with the drug test.

I tried really hard to listen but you guys nailed it right on the head, hearing arn is like watching paint dry. I’m a big Conrad fan but even he can’t save it for me. Arn just doesn’t have commentary or podcasting nack

I just hope that the promotional images for the podcast are Conrad and Arn's faces photoshopped over whoever they are talking about on the podcast.
You know, change things up a bit.

I'm probably in the minority, but I've liked both episodes. The first one started off a little rough, but Arn feels like he's slowly getting more relaxed about being himself and talking honestly about his career. For a guy who still kept interviews in semi-kayfabe until recently (even in his "shoot" interview and autobiography from around 2000), there's going to take some time for him to get comfortable with that.

Oh I'm with you. I'm absolutely here for anything Arn has to say. I find his storytelling captivating personally.

I would recommend checking this out this week; they go into Arn's injury, retirement, promo, and the Nash promo.

"When he stepped through those ropes, you believed everything. And when he stepped out, you went 'Thank God he didn't kill anybody.'" - Quote from Arn on today's episode about Chris Benoit.

Conrad: Who were you more excited to work with, Robocop or The Renegade?
Arn: I probably could've had a decent match with Robocop.
