Why would *tag team* wins count towards a *singles* title?

Why would *tag team* wins count towards a *singles* title? I can see it counting for tie breakers. or if someone has really good tag score and also some single score

Why would *tag team* wins count towards a *singles* title? You are correct, of course, but if I had just listed people with positive singles win-loss records the list would be Pac, Cody, Page, and Moxley. For a total of eight matches referenced.

Multi man matches will be tricky because of this. you will have much more losses than win. At least they are not counting battle royals for loses

Sounds like it is finally time for Chuckie T to get his shot at the big gold! You know, you are absolutely right. I am here for everything about this.

AEW seriously needs to consider working on their PPV names.
Fyter Fest/Fight for the Fallen within a few weeks of each other was a bad idea. "All Out" doesn't really scream 'Flagship Annual Event.' Full Gear is too wink-wink nudge-nudge. Eh.
Double or Nothing is probably the only good name so far.

I will agree though about figuring out a way to put a bit more time between Fyter Fest and Fight for the Fallen, given I'm thinking both will be yearly. Maybe move Fight for the Fallen to a cooler time of the year if they would still do it in Jacksonville, given how close to heat stroke some of the guys looked.

I’m a bit late to the thread, but has anyone else pointed out how weird the tag team tournament is and how convoluted the explanation is?
Two Teams had a match to get a “bye” to the second round. Isn’t that basically a first round match then? I remember the commentary saying it in a way that sounded more complicated. Was there a match to get that match to get that Bye?

So here is the deal (which I don't get why everyone is having trouble grasping) The Best Friends and the Dark Order each had matches at the Fyte for the Fallen Fest shows, in each match the goal was to go to the All Out match and the winner was the first seed in the title tournament (by virtue of beating 4 teams individually and six teams if you include the other three way). This gave them a bye because the tournament had seven entrants. The loser of the match is still in the tournament (hence why it isn't a first round match) and now has to wrestle and extra match compared to the rest of the teams in the tournament to get to the finals.

I...don't honestly see how it's complicated. Instead of wrestling three matches in the tournament, you get a bye to the second round to potentially only wrestle two. Like, you'd still be in the tournament, just not wrestle as much, which was what the Best Friends couldn't do and what the Dark Order did. You'd still be in the tournament, just don't have a bye. Maybe I'm just used to how Yu-Gi-Oh Round Robin tournaments can work that if there's not enough people, the player with the worst record presently (usually me) gets a bye.

I must be missing something, what’s so funny/wink-wink about the name “Full Gear”?

I must be missing something, what’s so funny/wink-wink about the name “Full Gear”? It isnty really funny but it is a wink wink toward a PAC/Page gag in BTE where Pac could walk anywhere in public in his wrestling gear(basically full gear is using your in-ring attire) but Page couldn't.Because PAC was ripped as hell. Then for Double or Nothing, Cody/Bucks kept saying Page was too fat/skinny to show up full gear for the show.

Tony Khan said that they will likely do the show with CEO next year, but it won't be called Fyter Fest because it won't be a timely joke anymore by then.

Probably a good choice,it was fun for a one time joke but it doesn't has the longevity. I don't even mind keeping the name if they just drop the "Fyre festival" motif because the name is actualyl fitting for a Wrestling x Fighting Game crossover

On one hand that's actually pretty smart, but on the other hand I feel like just calling it Fyter Fest and not doing the Fyre Festival stuff would still work fine because it sounds exactly like what an e-sports type thing would be named.

Fyter Fest is a decent enough name, but I do kinda hope they change it every year to something timely going on in the memeiverse. I know it'll be a little forgotten by the time July rolls around again, but I kinda hope it has a Storm Area 51 theme next year. Get Chase Owens on the show somehow.

I wonder if FttF had to be during that specific timeframe in Jacksonville, as it was a charity show to benefit victims of gun violence and their families, especially in the wake of the Madden shooter hitting so close to home there. If it's a show that can be done at anytime, then I hope the next one is either during a cooler time of year or indoors. As unique as the aesthetic was for the event, I can't imagine it being comfortable for either the workers or the fans to work an outdoor show in Florida summer humidity.

Yeah, I hope they move it, because some guys looked like it was impacting their performance pretty bad.

I also think that contributed to why Britt Baker didn't think she had a concussion at first when Bea Priestley hit her in the head.
