Saba Simba.... thankfully. On the plus side, that short run could perhaps be credited with saving Tony Atlas’ life (he was homeless & battling a severe drug addiction) but the gimmick was so bad it was being buried on commentary during his first TV appearance. This was at the height of the WWF’s early 90s cartoony gimmick phase as well.

Technically 3 times He tried to come in with no gimmick but that first promo was him copying the mannerisms of Sandow despite saying he isn't that character Then they tried to do the whole no gimmick tough guy routine and it didn't work Then it went to Liberace

Never understood this one. Why not just bring him back as Matt Bloom, acknowledge that he’s A-Train back from Japan, but now he’s a killer? The whole thing was dumb at best, racist at worst.

Yeh that answer was a joke and serious. The moment he took the mask off, even if people didnt recognize him ,they still just saw a white fat guy pretending to be japanese.

Styles with Flair before Fortune. The both of them were good together, but someone thought he needed to be Ric's clone, brother.

Heenan: "I want to introduce the newest member of the Heenan Family - the third Islander, Sivi Afi!"
*Sivi Afi proceeds to slap every hand on the way to the ring*
Vince, in the back, probably: ...dammit...

I mean they didn't hide that it was A-train. IT was part of the gimmick that it was a mid carder that went to Japan. The problem was they had him do slow plodding ninja moves... instead of just having him smash people.

Glacier gets hyped for months and months with these intense vignettes and it feels like we're gonna get this pretty bad ass new character. First time he's on Nitro, they have him talk and he's just a good ol' country boy who tells a BS story about traveling the world learning martial arts. What followed didn't help, but all that hype and Glacier was dead.

Wasn’t he originally going to debut before the NWO was officially formed at Bash at the Beach?

Who the f*** thought that idea would bring 1 additional fan or 1 additional dollar to the conpany?

He pitched it in WWE and thought it was such a good idea he pitched it in TNA as well and it basically killed him. His goodwill was already gone due to the promo, coming out of shape and not even having a good match with Eddie Edwards. Then this gimmick came and just closed the coffin on him

I think Mantaur could have done better. I liked the bull mask and attire. It reminded me of Vader in Japan with the smoking helmet.

He pitched it in WWE This is something that can't be overlooked. Sometimes it's not the WWE not letting us have nice things, it's them realizing that someone simply isn't that good.

Yeah, sometimes they miss on things like Elijah Burke pitching the Pope gimmick and he actually used it on a house show I believe before he got cut. They missed the boat on that and he then goes to TNA and takes off with the gimmick Aron Rex though, they flat out told him no on this. For some reason he thought it was such a good idea he pitched it in TNA and it killed him. The dude really went from everyone saying WWE did hold him back and he deserves a chance to that machine helped create and how talented is he really?
