Would have been the possible to turn the 80's Horsemen face? I don't care which version, as long as it had Tully and JJ in it.
I don't know, Tully Blanchard is such a natural heel, even more so than Flair, would have been hard, not impossible, he was a face in ECW and got a massive face pop at Slamboree 94.
I guess the way to do it, is have them feud with heels, an even eviler force. I guess they work with Paul Jones stable, or perhaps bring in Gary Hart and do what he did in 89 with Flair, or the Varsity Club perhaps.

I mean, I wouldn't have, for one, but the most i can think of would be to have it be somewhat like how SMW turned Buddy Landell face.
Ric tells Tully and JJ to stay out of a match he has coming up, that it's important to him that he proves himself against whoever, probably a new heel.
Match comes, and they interfere despite his insistence, and it looks like wires crossed and they accidentally cost Ric. They come into the ring to beg forgiveness, but just beat the shit out of him instead and align with the new heel hotness. Arn tries to help Ric and gets wailed on, too, maybe drive his face into the exposed turnbuckle and protect Arn that way. Him and Ric blade and try and get sympathy on the mat.

Well that it is not turning them face, that spliting them in half, it is Horsemen Black and White vs Horsemen Wolfpack. I meant turn the whole group, and get the top heel group become the top face group, which is not easy to do in 1980's world.

They could’ve fueled briefly with the Russians but that’s like the easiest angle to work with. The only other option would be to have a Kevin Sullivan stable involved.

I can’t see it happening because I can’t think of a better heel faction that could’ve taken their place. The NWA would’ve been light on heels without them. It’s an interesting idea but I think it would require an equal amount of credible faces turning heel to even things out. Then you’re getting into too many turns which could hurt your overall product.

I'd say you can do it if you have bigger heels pick them off.
Say, The Russians.
I'm taking this from the 1986 Bash with some changes.
Early in the night, The Andersons face The Road Warriors, being their usual heel self, but they lose, and are clearly injured after the match, given help walking to the back.
Ron Garvin faces Tully, same deal, the face wins, and the Horseman gets hurt.
In the main event, Flair is facing Ricky Morton, and the match happens, Flair wins as you'd expect.
Then the Russians come in and beat him down, blade job etc.
The other Horsemen come down, but because they're injured, they're slower so Flair's just OUT and the Russians are able to target the injuries to leave them all laying.
Then you have a promo where the taped up Horsemen are just pissed, putting over how they're a brotherhood, you go after one, you go after all of them, and no matter how hurt they are, they'll always have each others' backs, basically put over the bond and their heart.
Have The Russians always able to isolate 1 or 2 Horsemen so they have the advantage, go after JJ and go from there.

Midnight Express. Especially if you get Cornette to cut the mother of all heel promos on the Horsemen.

Midnight Express. Especially if you get Cornette to cut the mother of all heel promos on the Horsemen. Except the fans instantly took to the Midnights when they challenged the Horsemen in '88. I wouldn't turn the Horsemen face at all--but I would probably try to work out a way for Tully Blanchard to engineer a hostile takeover and kick Flair out and just turn *him* face, or maybe him and Arn both.

If Arn And Tully weren't already gone when the Warriors turned heel, that could have helped establish them as heels, which fans didn't want to boo them anyway, but when you turn a faction like the Horsemen face, that's a hell of a heel run. Hopefully it wouldn't have hurt the Horsemen though.

They could have them coming down to the ring smiling and slapping hands with the fans.

Arn gets REALLY into breakdancing and has a giant boom box and a colorful track suit. The other Horsemen slowly come on board. Cut to kids in the crowd doing cool dance moves.
