I thought that was almost part of his genius. Literally anytime dude went in you were almost guaranteed a barnburner of spots in a pre-attitude era setting where even a moonsault was rare. He didn’t have to be good at psychology, the ring skills were enough especially when WCW had such an insane cruiserweight division. The entire point of the thread is which high flyer was also the best psychologist. Even in a "it's his character not to be psychological" sense, give me Sabu or Jeff Hardy at their peaks over Ultimo. If we're counting "I will kill myself to hurt you enough to win" as psychology, I'll throw Sabu up on my list. He was a tremendous brawler in addition to a high flyer. Yes, he botched but it's not like he was botching arm drags, he was trying things everyone else at the time (and lots of guys now) wouldn't have even dared. Take a second and think about how f***ing hard this would be to do Not proclaiming him the best, but he definitely makes my own personal list.

Steve Anthony... dude can do it all. Good on the mat,can fly,can work a mic.
Seen him appear before a crowd that had no idea who he was and within minutes he had most of the crowd wanting to kill him.
Added two Steve Anthony matches since I realized most people outside of the Deep South have no clue who he is. The Steve vs AJ match is what got Steve the match vs Liger where Steve won the NWA jr heavyweight title.

Have to agree with Liger but I think 2 Cold Scorpio & Owen Hart (before he bulked up a bit in the mid 90s) are up there as well.

If Teddy Hart is a great psychologist, I'm an airplane.

Not proclaiming him the best, but he definitely makes my own personal list. Sabu definitely put more thought into his matches than one might think, at least when he was at his peak. I particularly liked how good he was at setting up tables (usually when he created a mini-ramp between the ring apron and barricade) only to get cut off before he could use it, with someone plunging through the table later in the match, often unexpectedly.

Gonna throw Psicosis' name in there - in his prime he could play just about any role in wrestling at an acceptable-or-better level. Bully heel, methodical heel, insane heel, underdog babyface, fearless babyface, unpredictable tweener... And Mysterio wouldn't be Mysterio without Psicosis selling his offense.
