Anyone been watching this on Netflix? It’s really good and adds so much to the world of Thran and the original movie.
Have to say the Skeksis are wonderful at being so evil! But the gelflings are great too.

It's really good and I can't believe it's directed by the same guy who did the Clash of the Titans remake
And I just realised this is the second post from me today that has inadvertently slammed Sam Worthington in some way

I watched it. So good! I feel bad for how the Gelflings are treated.

Louis Leterrier also directed the action gem Unleashed with Jet Li and Bob Hoskins, which is definitely worth a watch to erase the stigma of being the Clash of the Titans director.
I'm like 4 episodes into this. Really good, really deep world-building.

Only seen the first episode so far, but yeah, I'll be watching this all the way through. Great worldbuilding, acting, and puppet work, can't ask for much more.

I watched it. So good! I feel bad for how the Gelflings are treated. The gelflings are treated badly, but the Podlings are trod on by everyone (including the Gelflings) and they just want a happy life playing in the mud

The original movie is over 35 years old and even with all the advances in Hollywood this prequel is as faithful to it as it could get. I’ve finished the series and without giving any real spoilers I’ll say that it sets up the movie rather nicely and it leaves some room for a possible second series to happen between them.

It's a great series, and the love and the detail that went into everything is just astonishing, but the camera work does take a bit of the shine off it, shaking and moving all over the shop and I wish it wasn't as shaky as it was.
But when you have such great characters as The Chancellor (voiced by Simon Pegg) and Hup, they more than make up for it.

I love it. Binge watched it in the first 2 days. Now I want more. I was kind of surprised someone didn't make a thread here earlier about this. I was too lazy to do it myself.

Right after winning an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program, too. Kind of a dick move, Netflix.

I’m not happy, but I’m also sort of ok with this considering where the story goes. It was great but it was dreary enough as it was without getting even further into the genocide.

I could see it popping back up on HBO Max, especially after the Emmy win.

I am incredibly annoyed at this, I found DC:AoR to be fresh and original TV, that was amazing to watch. Then I read they want to do a Bright sequel which was utter rubbish.

Didn’t want to see if it would receive a bump post Emmy win?

This is lame. I hope Jim Henson Company doesn't try to tell the rest of the story in comic book or something. I don't care if it takes another 30 years, do it with puppets.
