Think about this: If they let you choose your own music, wouldn't it be better for you if you just lied your ass off and told them a band you liked, but pretended you hated them?

Something heavy and "violent" because this way I'd enjoy the music, but it'd also fit the fact that I'm being tortured. Like, for instance, Pleasure To Kill by Kreator. It'd make the experience pretty damn fun.
For something that would be torture to listen to... Hm. Maybe Barbara Streisand, like the time she tortured the South Park kids by just singing to them so that she could become Mecha Streisand. But for me, most works by Metallica, anything by Slipcock, Korn, Opeth, and anything rap, country, pop, etc.

Avril Lavigne, or Fall-Out Boy. It's something that I would dig. And odds are, if someone is torturing you, they're going to be the overly-testosterone-driven "I'm hardcore" Neanderthal man who decides that if it's not "f***in metal" it's not worth listening to. So this way, I get to torture them back!

Macho Man Randy Savage rapping. I'd be laughing too hard to feel anything.

Anything by David Gray or Alison Moyet would be absolute torture.

Any song by The View on a continious loop would completely do me in. Throw in The Cranberrys and i would scratch myself to death.

Any Britney/Jessica/Paris-style material. Boy bands, too.
If they wanna go classic rock, Led Zeppelin, CCR and Rush would make me buckle like a belt.
For more contemporary music, Coldplay, The Fray and Snow Patrol (basically, any band featured on The OC or Grey's Anatomy) will make me fold.
Jed Shaffer ~Then there's the whole jazz genre.
