For anyone who went on the last one: is there much opportunity to impromptu shoot the shit with the wrestlers on the cruise or are they sequestered in their own little VIP section of the ship outside of matches and scheduled meet and greets?

Bucks kept to their families. Jericho was all over the place wasted, I saw Callihan, King, Mark and Jay, Flip a lot. I personally tried not to bother them because it was just as much as their vacation as it was mine.

It seemed like the ROH and Impact crews were everywhere. I only saw Jericho once when he wasn't performing. I never saw Mysterio, if others hadn't confirmed he was there I would have sworn he no-showed. Foley got sea sick and I didn't see him unless he was performing. He even joked in one of his stand ups that Noelle told him "people think you're not here". I wanted a pic with Steamboat, but the only time I saw him was eating at a buffet and I'm not going to bother anyone in that situation. Basically all the big names were elusive but the current stars were very accessible and friendly.

Hopefully he doesn't lose the belt in the ocean.

Hopefully he doesn't lose the belt in the ocean. 'Chris what were you doing with the belt when you dropped it in the ocean?' 'I don't know what you mean.' 'Chris.' 'I wasn't doing anything with the belt.' 'Chris!' 'The belt was doing it.' 'What the blue f*** are you talking about?' 'It was steering the ship. I was in the bar the whole time, wasn't my fault.' 'YOU CAN'T EVEN CONTROL THE SHIP FROM HERE'

I joined a few Facebook groups of people that went on, and man, does it seem like it was a great time for them. Not surprising. Yeah, I know a guy who is a HUGE fan of all wrestling promotions he can make time for, and he told me that the Jericho cruise was the most fun he's ever had as a wrestling fan, and he's been to a New Year's Dash show.

Wasn't the first cruise a major contributing factor in Jericho moving away from WWE? Working for NJPW was a big part of it, but you also had him very annoyed WWE were disinterested in partnering with their NXT folks for the cruise. I wonder how that'd have done, in some alternate world. I imagine it wouldn't have had the same sort of energy to it, and that WWE would have demanded they film some stuff for it, too.

He brought the concept to them, they toyed with him for three months on it, then got the word back that they weren't interested because Vince was freaking out that the roster they sent would get sick on the cruise. Called up ROH and had a deal within a week.

I'm going on the upcoming cruise, pretty much because the word of mouth from the first one was pretty positive.

I completely concur. I have been fortunate enough to experience a few WrestleMania weekends, which are always a blast. I experienced All In weekend last year which was like WrestleMania weekend for Indy nerds like myself. I thought that couldn't be topped. The Jericho cruise is all of those things, on a ship in the middle of the ocean. Surrounded by nothing but the most die-hard of wrestling aficionados like yourself. I can't say enough good things about it. I haven't heard one person come out and say "that cruise was terrible, I'm never doing that again!" I haven't heard anybody say "it was AIGHT."

I feel like the fact that there wasn't a horrifying fight on this cruise last year that ended in a shark attack was pure luck

Those two things, plus "Okato" meeting Generation Me and putting a good word for them to NJPW. Also, Kenny washing out of WWE's developmental. Hell, throw in a casual challenge by Meltzer for someone outside of WWE to sell more than 10k tickets to a show, or whatever the bet was, which gave us All In.

Honestly, it's a fascinating idea and shout out to Jericho for actually pulling it off. This had all the makings of a literal nightmare and the fact that he was able to pull it off from a pure logistics standpoint on his first go is nothing short of amazing, honestly. Him and his team deserve the profit that last year's good press will bring them.

That's pretty standard from what I understand. The last time I was on a cruise was 2011, but back then, the Internet cafe's speed was pretty slow then as well.

This all sounds like a fate worse than death to me (not the wrestling but everything else basically), but hopefully people have a good time.
I feel like cruises had a big moment in the 90s/early 2000s, but you don’t really hear as much about them anymore. My parents went on one every year for 6 or 7 years, but I don’t think they ever did another one after the time there was a bomb threat on their boat (it turned out to be BS).

The cruise goes through Wednesday so I wonder what the odds are of having an episode of the TNT show on the cruise. The idea of a show live from a cruise ship is pretty cool.
