Ole Anderson. Not sure why since it seems like he retired with quite a bit of money. It's not like a Billy Jack Haynes situation where he is bitter because he's broke and wrestling left him with nothing. For whatever reason this has been the word for decades about Ole. Even watching his shoot interview from years ago he comes off like a grumpy old man that screams and hollers about everything.

Yeah it feels like it's got to be Ole; the man was so abrasive and shitty that he ended up locked out of his own legacy. He's the horseman history actively tries to push off to the side and forget because it's easier to marginalize him than to try and work with him.

Al Snow. He doesn’t seem happy at all when he’s giving interviews. He has the need to come off like the smartest guy in the room by making a big deal over some really silly stuff too.

Bitterness is what sells shoots since a guy saying all good things really isn't that interesting but if he is bitter it's probably because he came up when "kayfabe" was still alive and there was a greater barrier between fans and wrestlers. Fans didn't know as much as they know now so didn't have a place to speak on guys and their gimmicks or storylines since the internet wasn't around. Al is also a guy who wasn't given too many opportunities unless he earned them old school style and though he got pretty popular around 1998-1999 he wasn't a huge success yet a lot of guys coming in now, with lesser talent than him, shoot to instant fame because of the internet and not as many talents guys on the card. Al seemed to be one of the trainers in tough enough that took the kids in like a father but I have to imagine for some of the lower card guys as tough enough trainers they probably had some bitterness over the "kids" coming in with more fame having done much less work in wrestling.

On a similar note, who has every right to be bitter and yet isn’t? My vote would be Kevin Von Erich. He’s seen more tragedy than most have, yet he always seems to genuinely consider himself very lucky. I don’t agree with his views on some things but he could be angry with the business and I don’t think anyone would blame him.

No doubt that it comes from over a decade of struggling on the indies before he got any real recognition. I believe he started in 1982. I’ve seen one of his matches in the ICW territory run by the Poffos. It was wild seeing him way back when in such a promotion. He finally got some notoriety for being involved in a series of events that got him some buzz. Being part of the NWA world title tournament, his ladder match with Sabu in Michigan, his match with Benoit in ECW and even his run in SMW before the WWF picked him up. Then they used him in the failed Avatar character and then repackaged him as Leif Cassidy, a name no one took too seriously. I’m sure that was very frustrating for him. It wasn’t until the Head gimmick that would make him popular once he went back to ECW before becoming a big part of the hardcore division back in the WWF. Al Snow was a tremendous wrestler and all the work he’s put in was basically overlooked by pairing him up with a mannequin head. I can understand the bitterness. I think it’s taken a bit of an ugly turn in more recent years. He just doesn’t seem happy about anything anymore.

Bret Hart, though I wouldn't blame him for being bitter. Even during his 'worst' period, he always seemed to find time to say nice things about many of his former coworkers, even Shawn as a performer, he's outspoken in his praise for Kevin Nash too. Compare that to Ole Anderson, Dynamite Kid, Warrior before his HOF induction, Billy Graham and so on, who seldom had a nice thing to say about anyone, he was never, ever in their league of embittered bumholeness.

Bitter, or knows that since he doesn’t have to curry favor with Vince or Tony Khan, he can be as blunt as he wants to be.
