Not with his momentum.
He can't afford Rollins cutting lame ass kiddie promos against him when he's doing his gimmick. He can't afford Rollins showing up in the Funhouse making him look silly when this is his character. He can't afford Rollins getting a dumb chant against him. He can't afford Rollins beating his ass down each and every week before the ppv.
and most importantly
He can't afford Rollins beating him in this feud.
Wyatt's gotten this new character over, he's gotten everything with The Fiend over but this man Seth right now, nah. He can't afford that.

I don't think he will. His merch is making WWE a buttload and he has Vince and Heyman on his side.

I’d like to think they’re not going to have the Fiend lose this early into his run with as much effort as they’ve been putting into his whole package.

Every time I think, "Vince isn't crazy enough to throw away this momentum" I'm proven wrong.
Still, I'm hopeful even he realizes there is something special with The Fiend right now and he needs to look like an unstoppable monster for a while.

The problem with the Fiend is WWE portrays him as a villain. The crowd loves it. It’s very over. Push the thing and make him a face.

It’s a testament to how over he’s gotten this character that he’s possibly going to win a world title only two matches into its lifespan.
But I said this before, that if he wins here, he’s gonna have to rack up the body count while he’s the champion, and that’s when they might start undercutting him a bit to protect his challengers.

WWE has to go all in on this. Any half assing or letting Seth get a verbal/physical win will kill this character before it's had a chance to shine.
Just let the Fiend go ham here. We can worry about slaying the monster and humanizing him later.

Rollins can take this loss too, he's a multiple time world champ and beat Brock clean. Fiend needs this.

They can't let Seth win
Ideally, it would be a bit of a squash. No one has figured out the fiend (in what would be his 2nd match) and you need to keep that mystique alive. Seth should be steamrolled to a shocked crowd

Oh, he absolutely will lose. And then it's back to Wyatt being a butt monkey.
It's going to be the Orton feud all over again.

Somehow I can see Bray/Seth at HITC ending in a no contest.

Well the Funhouse looked like a cheap wall unlike the normal set so I expect Seth will burn it down at some point. Bray with the charred corpses of Ramblin' Rabbit and Huskus in hand as he cries until he morphs into the Fiend.
Where that would leave Funhouse Bray is a question since the Funhouse is supposed to be a safe place.
Plus they got Fiend/Taker to do in November.

I'm going to go one step further and say Bray can't afford for it to be competitive.
The absolute last thing the act needs right now is to be bogged down in WWE's usual heat-killing slog of a formula.

Stunner!
The...Worm???
The People's Slap from the old Smackdown games!? Oh come on now!
K, now he hits the Curb Stompy stomp and wins.
...Everybody looks pissed.

I have a very honest question. Bray wins the title, then what? The strength of the character is that we so rarely see him. The more we see him, the less impact he has, that's not his fault, it's just how wrestling always works. Bray has only ever done the taped promos so he's never really "there". I don't see much difference in this between what we've had for years with Lesnar: a rarely seen champion with a mouthpiece that you can't really feud with.
What I'm really saying is I'm not sold on the Fiend as champion as pretty much everyone else is.

This is going to be the problem with the Fiend... eventually he has to lose...
and sticking him in a title match THIS early kinda doesn't help him either as his other issue is going to be overexposure which well he needs to show up more often as the champion...
