The surprise entrant would be Bushwhacker Luke who is still wrestling despite starting his career in 1962.
Rob Van Dam is probably a more modern contender.

Except for Liger I am not overly familiar with the later years of those guys. (I absolutely need to catch up on post 2000 Muta. ) So this isn't a dig, just a question, since I think you could drop Rey with the right storyline into the Wrestlemania main event or Tokyo Dome main event and he'd be totally fine while some guys who have been going 30 plus years would be good for a battle royal appearance or a six man tag but not much else... where would you rank those three along those terms? Liger vs. Minoru Suzuki is going to headline one of New Japan's Tokyo Dome main events next year. I'm thinking they do that at King of Pro Wrestling. Liger will probably want to put over a Junior at the Dome.

There's many who have wrestled longer than Mysterio is likely to ever wrestle but I think your point was more those who have stayed relevant for that amount of time?
L.A. Park (La Parka) has to be considered a contender. Made his debut in 1982 and has been one of Mexicos biggest stars for decades now. Is arguably having one of his best in-ring periods too these past few years.
Sticking with Lucha, Dr. Wagner Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. are still huge stars in Mexico too, both made their debuts in 1985. In fact, Mexico is something of an anomaly in general when it comes to older wrestlers, the afore mentioned Negro Casas is still busting out great matches at nearly 60, while the likes of El Satanico, Fuerza Guerrera, Blue Panther and Black Terry are all in their sixties (nearly seventies in Satanico's case) and regularly working still and in some cases, main eventing.

Bob Backlund is one who was around forever. I think he debuted early 70s and was still knocking around in the ring occasionally quite recently. Pretty sure he could still handle himself to a decent level today. Guy is always in good nick.

Some others who haven't been mentioned yet: Tracy Smothers (36 years experience) is still out there. Tom Prichard (39 years) still wrestles a few times per year, when asked to. Bill Dundee (48 years) as well. Sean Waltman (29 years). Doug Gilbert (33 years). Sabu (34 years). Al Snow (37 years). Honky Tonk Man (42 years). Greg Valentine (49 years). Tito Santana (42 years). Jim Duggan (40 years). All of these guys have wrestled this year.

Al Snow has been going for the last 37 (!) years and can still more or less go.

Terry Funk feels like one of the best comparisons in terms of the longevity/relevance balance that Misterio has. Starts wrestling in 1965, "retires" in '83, joins the WWF for the first time in '85, WCW in '89, and by 1994, 29 years into his career, he suddenly starts doing moonsaults and becomes a key piece of birth of the hardcore era, with additional notable runs in ECW,WWE, and WCW still in front of him. He also managed to fit a detour into Hollywood in there.

Doing the Birthdays threads, I just saw that CMLL wrestler Atlantis debuted in 1983, and Cagematch.net lists over 100 matches in 2019 so far.

Doing the Birthdays threads, I just saw that CMLL wrestler Atlantis debuted in 1983, and Cagematch.net lists over 100 matches in 2019 so far. His work has fallen off in the last few years, but he was going strong into his 50s. Still works a regular schedule. The reason I mentioned Negro Casas is because he has worked a pretty regular schedule for 40 years, and he's still great. He's almost 60.

Rey's career has been long, but his current knees are still rookies.
