Did people really debate who was better in their prime? I mean it's unquestionably Taker. That aside, Kane's returns are 100% more fun than Taker's returns and 150% less depressing. I think prime Kane is better than prime Undertaker. That may just be personal preference, but I always got way more enjoyment out of Kane in the Attitude Era than Undertaker.

I consider prime Taker to be 06-09 since thats when hew unquestionably at his best in ring wise, and Kane has never come close to that.

Is he the first elected official to become a wrestling title holder?

Ugh. The Fiend doesn’t need to be “put over” by Kane. Kane and Taker are hitting 60. Beating them does nothing for nobody these days, no matter how hard they try to convince the fans it does. Kane came in and wrecked the shit of about five guys, including AJ Styles meaning he’s still a dangerous monster, so an even more dangerous monster coming in and takes HIM out..come on man, it’s wrestling logic 101 here. Doesn’t matter if you buy into or not, the storytelling is right there.

Taker will definitely go down as a bigger legend.

Kane really embraces the whole trading tights for a business suit thing. I’m assuming a flaming trash can was involved

I'd actually be pretty okay with that being Kane's last appearance. Given the whole gimmick started with random blackout run-ins where he wrecked shit, it seems wholly appropriate that 20+ years later, he goes down the exact same way to a newer, scarier monster.

I know the guy is a legend and everything but I just groan when I hear him come out now. I know they’re gonna act like he’s a monster but when push comes to shove, he never actually wins anything. It’s hard to get invested in The Fiend vs Kane when Kane’s been a loser since like 2006. Save for that brief World Title run in 2010.

With all due respect, I don't think that you are looking at this correctly. You seem to think that they are headed for a Kane vs The Fiend feud, which would indeed suck. However, I am confident that this was just a one and done. This was a new monster putting the old monster out to pasture. This was no different then The Fiend's attacks on Mick Foley, Jerry Lawler, and Kurt Angle. Plus, they were in Kane's hometown so it was easy for him to appear. This was the monster equivalent of Randy Orton spitting on Harley Race. Also, it had the added bonus of Kane actually being Bray Wyatt's first main roster feud, so it continued the theme of The Fiend going after people from Bray's past.

Kane has always been a far more versatile worker than Taker, from his character work to the type of matches he can work. I have no doubt Undertaker will always be remembered more vividly by fans because he's been so protected for so long, but Kane's selfless backstage attitude has made him kind of an unsung hero of the company. For as much as people say Taker is a company man, it fits Kane honestly more.
It's why why I understand fatigue is real and I definitely don't need to see Kane going over young guys anymore, I always felt a little bad for him especially to be labeled as a "Local Man" on this board.
Big Show? Sure. He talks a good game of helping out guys, but pretty much nobody but him talks about that. There's way more stories from guys saying Show was as big of a jerk as he was in WCW. Whereas Kane is one of the few universally liked people in the business.

Come on, man. It's fine to not want him around, but 52 is not "hitting 60". That's almost (but not quite) as bad as when I turned 18 and my father said "You're almost 40! Act like it!" I would like to subscribe to your father’s newsletter.

I much prefer late stage Kane to late stage Undertaker. I’d rather never see taker wrestle again at this point.

I'm pretty sure with Taker at least that isn't true, much as I wish it was. Taker is arse gravy these days but he still gets a big reaction even though when he shows up his knees are resting in the sink in Texas still.

Yeah, even at 54 (which isn't really close to hitting 60 either) Taker gets huge reactions when he comes out. I've said all taker should be doing at this point if he must have a match is the style like Cena Match at Wrestlemania. Since that's about all he can do.

Yeah even I could tolerate Taker if he just shows up to squash people in matches shorter than his entrance. Perfect amount of time to go for a smoke and come back!

Kane could have been used much better in his early days in WWE.

It's sad that if you Google "Kane" the first thing that comes up is a football player who was only 4 years old when Kane debuted.

Undertaker should have permanently phased into the ABA incarnation of his character toward the end of his career. Would have been more interesting than playing a deadman forever.
