I assume they won’t be using this song in advertising for the new service.

the exciting news here should be that there is a Saved By The Bell sequel series with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley
and Zack Morris is a California Governor now

Man. Too many streaming services. It’s nice to be Canadian. Disney+ being the exception, everyone else sells off their exclusives to either Crave or Netflix here. Don’t need CBS, don’t need NBC, don’t need DC/WB etc

Don’t need CBS, don’t need NBC, don’t need DC/WB etc Same for us Europeans. Either Netflix picks up stuff or one of the channels use them for mostly free content for their own streaming services. CBS and NBC are B to C level TV channel rerun brands around the UK especially. Nowhere near enough to have their own streaming services. It'll be interesting when Hulu comes over here, though, and seeing what stuff looks like.

Yeah, not as impressive as Disney+...to say the least.
(no, not even the SBTB reboot = automatic win)

All these idiots are doing launching endless streaming services with exclusives is driving up piracy. A big part of the reason folks were dropping cable and switching to streaming is because it was a much cheaper alternative. But now CBS has an app. NBC is launching one. WB is launching one, which may or may not include their DC content which again, currently has its own app. These companies stand to make less money than they would selling off originals and classic series' to Netflix and Hulu.
I know personally this year, I sat down and calculated the cost of all my streaming services. $140 a month. And I didn't have nearly all of them. That's ridiculous, so I cancelled a ton of them. It's just not practical to pay $10-$15 a month for a service because you care about just one or two of their exclusive shows.

Yeah, this is destined to fail.
The only way I see something like this work is for the service to be free with unskipable ads.

I thought NBC and fox owned Hulu
Why create a separate streaming option?

Thing is, most of these companies are making enough money selling international streaming rights that it basically funds their US streaming services. They probably need f*** all for subscribers to make money if they factor in their international rights It’s why everyone but Disney is quite content to sell shows rather then aggressively try and launch their service worldwide. I’m pretty sure the CBS one is in Canada, but the Star Trek shows and Twilight Zone were sold to traditional TV AND streaming services here so I’m sure their subscription count is non-existent

The entire Adult Swim back catalogue is for free on All4 with a subscription, for example so why would I pay to watch it on whatever HBO Max is?
