I'm guessing we'll see a rematch once they go up against AEW.

Well I'm not going to lie, I would've liked to see Riddle and Dain have an actual match. But I really dug that show overall.

They’re just getting their early endings out of the way before the full two hours on USA.

That f***ing ruled! They brought it right from the word go tonight. That 4-way was off the chain, Trevor Lee looked amazing with that squash and the title match was a masterpiece. And they didn't half-ass it on the Network, either. Dunne vs. Ruas was surprisingly competitive, Xia Li is getting a push, Imperium is wrecking shit, but Kushida is ready to step to Walter, Lio vs. Oney was fire and that main event was a clusterf*** in the best possible way. If this is what every Wednesday night is going to be like... damn.

Alternatively, it’s probably because WWE Network doesn’t really have true commercial breaks like on USA Network. Which means with full commercial breaks, this would’ve ended at 10pm.

The whole show just flowed so well.

A great 2 hour debut for NXT. Triple H’s promo to start the show gave me chills & made me tear up for someone reason. I’m man enough to admit that. The Fatal 4-Way was awesome. I could have done without the squash match, but then the North American Title Match was excellent. I also loved the promos to introduce fans that never saw NXT to the wrestlers. The 2nd hour was fun with nice showcase of Pete Dunne & Xia Li, awesome return of Lio Rush VS Oney Lorcan, and chaotic ending with the Street Fight. I also loved the NXT UK Invasion, though it really isn’t since Aichner & Barthel are still listed on the NXT Roster, nut I love the idea of the only wrestler undefeated in NXT (Kushida) VS the only wrestler undefeated in NXT UK (WALTER). My original plan was to watch NXT on DVR starting next week because of Chicago Med & Chicago Fire, but after tonight, I have to watch NXT live every week. The Chicago shows & the rest of the broadcast shows I watch can wait for DVR for another time.
Here are the Facts & Stats for NXT: - Candice LeRae VS Mia Yim VS Bianca Belair VS Io Shirai was the 21st Fatal 4-Way match of 2019, the 1st since Raw on August 5, & the 1st on NXT since Takeover XXV on June 1, Belair’s 1st NXT match since September 4 & her 1st opener since May 29, Shirai’s 1st NXT match & opener since August 28, Yim’s 1st NXT match since August 21 & her 1st opener since July 3, & was LeRae’s 1st NXT match & opener since June 12, but her 1st match overall since she lost to Shirai at Takeover: Toronto on August 10 - Cameron Grimes VS Sean Maluta was Grimes’ 2nd week in a row on NXT, making him the 1st wrestler since Roderick Strong on June 12 & 19 to compete 2 weeks in a row on NXT, & was Maluta’s 1st NXT since May 22 - The Velveteen Dream VS Roderick Strong was the 7th North American Championship Match of 2019, the 1st since Takeover Toronto on August 10 & the 1st on NXT TV since April 17, Velveteen Dream’s 1st NXT match since September 4, & was Strong’s 1st NXT TV match since July 31 & his 1st match overall since he lost the Triple Threat Match with Pete Dunne to Velveteen Dream at Takeover: Toronto on August 10, was the 3rd North American Title Change of 2019 & the 1st since Dream defeated Johnny Gargano on NXT on February 20, & was Strong’s 1st win since he defeated Tyler Breeze on July 3 & was Dream’s 1st Singles loss since he lost a Fatal 5-Way to Adam Cole on May 20, & was the 50th Title Change on TV & PPV in WWE, 205 Live, NXT UK, & NXT, not counting the 24/7 Title - Pete Dunne VS Arturo Ruas was Dunne’s 2nd week in a row on NXT, making him the 2nd wrestler this week to compete 2 weeks in a row on NXT & was Ruas’ 1st NXT since July 17 - Xia Li VS Aliyah was Li’s 1st NXT since July 24 & was Aliyah’s 1st NXT match since July 3, was Li’s 1st win since she defeated Taynara Conti on June 19, & was the 1st time since July 3 that NXT had 2 Women’s Matches - Lio Rush VS Oney Lorcan was Lorcan’s 1st NXT match since July 17 & he was the 1st wrestler since himself & Drew Gulak on June 11 & 12 to compete on both 205 Live & NXT in the same week, & was Rush’s 1st match overall since he & Bobby Lashley lost to Finn Balor & Braun Strowman on Raw on March 18 & his 1st NXT on since he lost to Lars Sullivan on January 10, 2018 - Matt Riddle VS Killian Dain was the 14th No Disqualification Match of 2019, the 2nd one this week after Clash of Champions, & the 1st on NXT in 2019, both wrestlers’ 1st NXT match & main event since August 21, their 2nd match against each other, & their 1st re-match, & was the 23rd No Contest of 2019, the 1st since Raw on September 2, & the 1st on NXT since June 12 - This was the 2nd week in a row that NXT did not have a Tag Team Match

I'm still wondering if Dream's done something to his hand/wrist. It was wrapped up, and he never does the wrist tape gimmick.

I'm still wondering if Dream's done something to his hand/wrist. It was wrapped up, and he never does the wrist tape gimmick. I’d be looking more closely at Adam Cole. Dude seemed to have his hand heavily braced, and he only had to do run-in spots. Based on the clearer pictures on WWE.com, Velveteen had some kind of sheer fashion accessory as opposed to actual tape, so it might have just been for a look as opposed to something functional.

Ah, yeah, I see it now, I just assumed since he took the gloves off that it was some protective tape. Bit of a relief. Hmm. I did hear someone in NXT had an injury but didn't say who. May have been Cole they meant.

I assume we have many younger fans who weren't around as fans when the MNW was a thing.
There's nothing in wrestling like when two shows are actively trying to outdo eachother.
