Three that come to mind immediately that fit the mold by having both Japanese and Southern wrasslin' roots are Stan Hansen, Great Muta, and Jushin Liger. Uh. Are you aware that Stan Hansen is 70 and retired around the same time ECW closed? He has done appearances for a local indy here in the last few years. Definitely wouldn't be out of the question to introduce a title the same as Bret did at Double or Nothing.

I wasn't even considering non-wrestling appearances, which is dumb because Tully is the reason for the thread.

I would bring in The Great Khali and have him dominate the whole roster. Then he can challenge Chris Jericho and beat him to become the new AEW world champion. Only problem with this is WWE probably owns The Great Khali name so you’d have to call him something else. I’d be on board with this though

I figure they could use Lawler occasionally nad have the JR/King duo call a match here and there for the sake of nostalgia, maybe even with Tony as a third man to push some nostalgia buttons.
Not full time though, they do need to develop some commentators under 40 for longevity's sake.

"Legend" is a strong word, but I'd love to see Chris Masters come in. They don't really have anyone doing the "ripped guy" gimmick, and he's actually good and has some personality, which puts him over most of these types. That, and I want to see him ragdoll Marko Stunt with a Masterlock.

Nick Dinsmore is only 43 years old, probably still has something in the tank. Just don't bring him in as Eugene, or perhaps do a riff on the Borne Again gimmick that Matt Borne used in ECW.

That'd be fun. I know the knee-jerk reaction would be to question if he could do promos enough, but have him come in and do his Sam the Eagle ultra-straightfaced bit for someone and play to their credibility. You had me at Sam the Eagle

I'd question the legend tag for them, but Ryback and Nick Dinsmore are interesting suggestions.
