When HBK started wearing pants

Did anyone else think it was a better look for him? not sure what it was but I thought he looked odd in his old tights when he returned and I loved his attires from the 90s. He was walking weird/stiff and they didn't look as cool as they used maybe it was his age but they seemed dated. The pants freshened him up made him look cool without trying to hard as he used to wear pants to the ring anyway.

The instant he switched, he immediately looked so much older to me. I dont know why but it was like an acknowledgment he was not the old HBK. Weird to describe but it was part of him seeming less "special "

It took me a really long time to notice the difference for some reason. And once Miz and Morrison started doing the promos referring to Shawn as "Captain high pants man" or whatever the hell they kept calling him, and pointed out that Shawn wore his pants up above his belly button I could not unsee it and I hated it even more.

Totally agree. It was his version of Randy Savage and his stupid greasy ponytail in 1999.

I still remember when they ripped in a dark match on a show I went to and Triple H had to duct tape them.

The match was Triple H, Michaels and JBL vs. WWE Champion John Cena, World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Hulk Hogan if you were curious.

Less cool was whenever he and Triple H started paying tribute to Ric Flair onscreen, because Shawn decided to make 67 percent of his offense chops. For all of the shit people give Hunter, at least he didn't do that.

Pants Michaels is my favorite look for him. One of the best ever.

I liked a few of them. The red/black from the Flair retirement and the white/red from the Cena match are up there. This is a good one, too:


I always preferred the tights on him, though. Both looks are way better than his original 2002 comeback tights. The weird brown ones and the various generic black/silver ones combined with the mid-length hair did not do him any favors.

Same. When he came out at WrestleMania 21 and they rang the bell and started the match and he was still wearing the pants I was like HUH? That was the first time he did it, right?

I've always vastly preferred how he looks in pants over the tights. Same for Rey Mysterio.

I thought it was a fine progression. Some online also said his legs were smaller so along with the knee braces, probably helped cover that up. Some of the designs were slick.

The pants were alright I just wish he used more different color schemes with them.
