I came across the Vidmark app on my Roku. That thing has trouble playing movies or programs when I try to push play. Sometimes it will go through, but other times, if mainly, they won't.

Odd I use Vidmark app on my Roku fairly often and never had any issues. Really never ran into a crappy app/channel so far. Only one I have had a few minor issues with is Highspots Network. Sometimes you gotta click on something 3 times to get it to accept it.

Go Fight Live. I don't think there was a single PPV I bought there that wasn't laggy or had terrible picture quality.

Watching the CW is a comedy of errors and it's been that way for a decade. I have the app on my phones, but I rarely open it up. I still have battle scars from trying to watch Girlfriends and One Tree Hill on my computer back in the day. I have the app on my fire stick, but I stick to watching the latest shows and I don't mess around with the show's navigation bar. Plus, I don't need to see the same commercial for budget phone or acne treatment fiftyleven times in less than an hour. Yeah I quit watching their shows when they took them off Hulu and went app only. The Roku version was ok but watching it on the computer was a trial. Just a few episodes from the end of the season I quit Flash and Arrow. General disinterest in the shows at that point but if they had been easier to watch i would have stuck it out.

Pluto TV. The damn thing kept repeating/freezing in certain spots. Then, it had the balls to keep playing after the I closed the app. I had to reset the computer before it would shut up.

I might start watching this seasons CW shows through my rabbit ears.

I saw one horror movie streaming channel that literally used a VHS rip of a film (and you could tell as they kept in the video company's logo at the beginning).

Never had an issue with the CW app. But CW Seed acts up sometimes. But then all I watch on CW app is Riverdale.

Crunchyroll's Playstation apps are buggy as hell and tend to freeze consoles. The Wii U Crunchyroll app (I know, I know) is actually hilarious in how unreliable it is. Freezes up, jumps, drops you out and that's just off the top of my heard.

Night Flight. The actual content is great, but the app is f***ing atrocious. I was dumb enough to pay for a year of it before actually looking at the app. It's as awful of an app as you can get.

Multiple streaming services definitely do this. Funland on Amazon Prime is definitely just take from a VHS tape. I’ve even seen them try to spin this as a positive by marketing one movie as the “Retro VHS Version”. Yeah, clever way to avoid remastering/pay for the rights to a remaster a movie, but it’s easy to see through the bullshit.

I had Sling for a bit and had a horrible time with it. It would crash all the time and kept requiring me to login every time.

Bumping this to complain some more about Funimation, specifically how for months on the Firestick (at least for me, haven't looked into it) the autoplay on videos hasn't been functioning correctly. Every now and then it'll play the next episode as it's supposed to but usually either it restarts the episode or boots me back to the episode select. And sometimes when it does the latter it mistakenly says the show has no episodes so I have to double back then reopen the show's page to actually get the episode list to return.

The content on The Criterion Channel is amazing.
I don't think I've gotten more than 15 minutes into a movie without it starting to lag badly.

The Jesse Ventura "classic" Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe, is absolutely a VHS rip, though I doubt it exists in any other form (the DVD release is also a VHS rip).

The Spotify app on the Firestick is rapidly reaching this with me. I've only really started using it recently but this thing seems to be a total memory vampire - its cache is usually much bigger than most other stuff and periodically the app will not only crash but start causing my Firestick to randomly open up other apps on its own until I clear it out. Nothing else on the Firestick gives me anywhere near the same amount of problems as this thing does.
