So ITV only picked up AEW to begin with to have some events for their lacklustre ppv service by the looks of it and airing the tv shows was just something lumped in to deal that that they could take or leave I guess, that is evident by their original plan of showing it at 8am on a Sunday morning on a channel nobody even watches and then when getting called out on it their pitiful excuse of “oh no that was just meant to be a replay” and then shoving it on the same crappy channel late on a Friday night opposite TNA.
they did put the hour long version on the main channel but again it was just easy filler for 11pm Monday night.
Hopefully their deal wasn’t for very long, itv can eat a bag of dick when it comes to wrestling after cancelling it in the 80s and then attempting really shitty revivals that they quickly got bored of in 2001 and then recently with WOS.

AEW being on a Friday night works for me in terms of being able to fit it in amongst the three main WWE shows, but as I record it to the Sky Planner it did not bother me that much when it was shown. The couple of days delay to see it, whilst not ideal, didn’t bother me either as it just made Friday night AEW night for me. Easy enough to avoid spoilers - especially now there is a separate AEW board round these parts that I can stay out of on a Thursday.
But just because it suits my viewing schedule doesn’t really excuse ITV promising to have it available online on a Thursday and then just not bothering. Whilst it isn’t an issue for me, for those who don’t want to wait another night it is poor service.
If ITV box office is indeed closing, and the viewing figures are that low, I wonder where it ends up? I don’t particularly want to get Fite TV so hopping it lands somewhere accessible. Doubt it will be BT Sports - which is a shame as they are really knocking it out the park with their WWE coverage - but wouldn’t mind Sky getting it.
