Do you guys think Ovie can break Gretzky's record? I can't believe I'm saying this, but yeah. A couple more 40 goal seasons and a few ~30 and he'll break it by 40 or 41, which is crazy. Also crazy that he just passed Lemieux 8 goals ago, but Lemieux did it in 200 less games and almost 2,000 less shots. Hockey is so weird in that the gap between even the best is staggering at times.

It's not inconceivable he could be in 5th by the end of the season. There's 28 games left and he's 23 goals behind Dionne, that's basically a goal a game more or less. More than likely, he passes Esposito this year, and Dionne/Hull next. One reason why I don't believe he'll get it is the shortened season back in 2012/2013. He lost 34 games, that's probably an additional 15-20 goals that he missed out on.

I've never liked him, so I hope he doesn't but the numbers to pass him over the next 6 seasons seem feasible for him.

Vegas bought the San Antonio Rampage and are moving them to Las Vegas next season. That leaves the Blues (once again) without an affiliate, so naturally they'll likely be looking at the Chicago Wolves... whom they aren't so fond of.

Scary situation during St. Louis vs. Anaheim. Blues player Jay Bouwmeester collapsed while on the Blues benched and he got taken to the hospital. The game got postponed as a result.

They say he had a cardiac episode, but is awake and alert and more info will come out in the morning.

Prayers that Jay is ok. That is a scary situation. As a Blues fan it hits harder for watching him for so many years. Sounds like he will be.

Thankfully it sounds like he'll be fine after a recovery period. Would be beyond horrifying if something worse happened to him.

Sounds like it and thank god for the quick response to the medical staff at the Honda Center and both teams. The saved a man's life from what the Blues GM said they had to use a defibrillator on him.

Erik Karlsson out the rest of the season with a fractured thumb. That guy seems like he's never gonna be fully healthy again between that horrible ankle injury, his extensive groin problem last season, and "smaller" stuff like this. It's crazy how different the outlook is for the Sharks from the end of last season to the end of this season.

Next year's Stadium Series is going to be in Carolina, and I'm planning on going to it.

He'll probably never play again, but he had a great run. Was only gonna play another season and a half at the absolute most. Went out as a very good defender on a SC champion. All things considered, he's insanely lucky. A great, long career with many accolades and he isn't dead because the catastrophic thing that happened to him was with hospital-level care within 20 feet of him. Only downside is we have nobody to replace him on the left side, but that's small potatoes.

Wish he could at less gone out on his own terms but at less he can live a good after Hockey life for his family because I agree he likely not playing anymore. From how it was described that way to much risk that even with the padding a chest hit can mess it all up, not worth it and he as a player has nothing else to prove. It's been so heart warming with all the league reaching out and supporting him. It's a big family at the end of the day for these players. I'm glad he doing well from all the reports are saying.

Nobody wants to see someone die during a game. Bill Masterton (the man the Masterton Memorial Trophy is named after) was the only NHL player to die during a game, and obviously that's one player too many.

Yeah, even if he wanted to come back, which he probably wouldn't, his docs, the league and the Blues would have to clear him to play. It's better for everyone if he just calls it a day.

Which I doubt the league or the Blues would clear him because for the reason I said above. He would become a liability and that something I doubt either side would want to take. The only way if his doctors said there would be zero risk if he returned and I don't see that ever being a case in this situation.
