It's 2019, and many wrestlers are looking to have more bargaining power than they've had in years. WWE's got their knack for trying to hire tons of people, even with their firing freeze they're employing. AEW's trying to not hire TOO many people, but still obviously making plays where they can, enough to rattle WWE. Impact, ROH, MLW, now NWA, maybe even surprises like Master P's HOG, there are a lot of people promoting wrestling and that's definitely to the benefit of wrestlers and fans alike. Who stands to benefit, you think, when they go on the market?
The most obvious ones are Tessa Blanchard and Jacob Fatu. Both have been booked very strongly by Impact(and WOW) and MLW, respectively, but I don't know if either one of them wants to make these promotions their forever home. Tessa already is one of Impact's highest paid performers, but she will eventually run out of things to do for them, and she will almost certainly be entertaining tons of offers.
WWE has Charlotte for basically THE most easily booked program ever as a team or feud, and the most viewers for her (doubtful she'd be relegated to NXT). Though, she would put herself at the mercy of WWE's booking.
AEW is on the rise, and getting in early could be big for her, but there are lingering questions of the women's roster, how many of them are really able to keep up with her at all. Then again, if they did hire her, I imagine they'd also be hiring more people with that in mind, since you don't buy a Formula 1 car to race mini coopers.
Women of Honor.... pfft, okay, okay, I'll stick to serious options.
Impact could very well put their top title on her at the rate they've been going, if they are really serious about keeping her. They also pay her quite well and allow her time for other projects like WOW. Sticking around wouldn't exactly be chopped liver, but it may be like LAX where they left when they ran out of things to realistically do in Impact after a point.
Much of this applies to Jacob Fatu as well. He's treated quite well by MLW, and he's also got probably the most coveted familial ties in wrestling outside maybe McMahon ones. The wrestling world is his oyster, and not just the West. He's prime gaijin material for Japan, as well. Make no mistake, unless he has some severe personal problems or a career-ending injury, he's going to have a lot of offers come his way.
Who else stands to benefit? Who else is going to be a hot property? This isn't even talking about WWE talents whose contracts are running out, which would raise the number quite a bit.
