A nice thing about this format is how they're putting a lot of work into making their top guys feel important, via promos, angles, etc. Then when a main event like that 6 man goes down it feels like a big deal, as well, even though it's not lighting the world on fire in terms of its pure in-ring quality...not that the ring work was bad at all, mind you, just nothing revolutionary, but it doesn't matter because they've made the stars feel important and given the match a sense of stakes with the title shots involved. Good stuff. I agree, which is why this is now my favorite weekly wrestling program. They have done a fantastic job of building the characters and fueds, something we just don't see much of in North American wrestling anymore. While AEW has great matches every week, I don't feel they have done a good job of building their top stars. Obviously most wrestling fans know who the Bucks, Cody and Kenny Omega are, but a person walking into AEW either blind or with limited knowledge isn't really going to attach to them in my opinion. As far as NWA Power's in ring product, I think it's perfect for a weekly program. You get a few squash matches and then a longer mid-card match and a main event with some top stars and not overly long. It makes you want more, unlike a lot of wrestling today that often makes me feel exhausted after the show is over. As far of the style itself, actually reminds me a lot of JCP's WCW, with the hard hitting, more technical style. There is enough wrestling with flips and flash that I don't really crave it, even though there is still some on this show as well.

Absolutely one of the most disappointing things about AEW is the lack of character building. NWA is doing an AMAZING job with their interviews and angles, though. Seriously came out of nowhere as the best wrestling show of 2019, IMO.
