Now they're overhyping it. It's gonna come off as a disappointment if it's anybody less than David Tennant.

Because I would be all for a Jackie Tyler return. I'm imagining a sub-plot where Graham keeps trying to put the moves on her but she ignores him because she's too busy slobbering over Ryan.

I'm just surprised it's not the BBC hyping it themselves given the somewhat flagging ratings.

That is one of the better episodes of this era, with two major surprises!

I have no idea what's going on. But in a good way. It's been so long since Doctor Who gave me that feeling. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Though I can't wait for the social media outrage over a black female Doctor./s

Well, this is my favourite episode of the Chibnall era, plot moves along fast, great surprises leading to interesting mysteries, hopefully they can pay all of this off.

I don't know how I feel...but being a Cartmel Masterplan fan, I'm kind of on board with it. Feels like the kind of kick in the buck teeth the show needs.

I'm ridiculously happy with this episode. What I thought would be a fun return for the Judoon became so much more, and felt like a love letter to my fave series of Who, as well as introducing some fascinating mysteries to come. I have no idea where it's heading, in the same way that I had no idea what Bad Wolf was.

They have hinted at there being other Doctors before the First Doctor before right? I mean from my memory, I can think of Capaldi mentioning he was a little girl to Bill and wasn't it also hinted in the fourth Doctor story The Brain of Morbius that there are other past regenerations?
Edit: I also just remembered we really don't know about the gap between Troughton and Pertwee. And there is the theory the Time Lords sent Patrick Troughton's Doctor on missions after they found him off screen, which is used to explain his appearance in the Two Doctors by fans

It was Missy who said to Clara that she remembered The Doctor as a girl when they were kids back in series 9. 2. The Brain of Morbius cycles were dismissed by fans later as being incarnations of Morbius, but I suppose you can't really rule it out any longer. 3. Have you ever seen the fan film 'Devious' which uses a transitional Doctor between Trougton and Pertwee? Pertwee even appeared in it shortly before he died, reprising the role of the Doctor one last time to complete the regeneration.

I miss remembered the scene where him and Bill where sitting on a bench eating takeaway, I thought he said he was a little girl once in that scene but I just looked it up and he says "Yeah, I think she was a man back then. I'm fairly sure I was one too, it was a long time ago through" I'm just trying to make sense of what happened last night and I realised it can't be before the first because the TARDIS is a police box and I'm pretty sure it didn't get stuck in that shape until The Doctor and Susan hid on Earth. and no I haven't seen 'Devious' I haven't really watched any of the fan produced Doctor Who stuff, even through I own a copy of Downtime but I haven't watched that yet

but isn't this the beauty of the character structure, it's SO open ended that anyone can just pop in with their own iteration ..... bloody timelords can't trust them we could be going BACKWARDS in the doctors timeline for all we know up is down black is white

It's said that the type 40 The Doctor and Susan steal is in the repair shop, and then they're instructed by Clara to take the one with the knackered navigation equipment. You could argue that the type 40 was still the one Ruth had used, but had been restored to it's original form by the repair shop technicians...and somehow Clara's splinter, having learned of the Doctor's legend from Ruth's previous missions, points Hartnell and Susan in the direction of the type 40 that had previously served them.
