Considering all the stuff that Vince has done in recent years, how will he be remembered by the wrestling world when he passes on?

Respected and hated.
And each is a justified viewpoint.

Mainly as the scumbag he is.
Just listening to JR today talking abiut the disrespect from Vince towards him and how he knew Vince made fun of him in meetings behind his back. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as Vince goes.

I wonder if his shadier business practices will over shadow what he did for the business.

The same way Walt Disney was. He'll be beloved when he probably shouldn't be. His family has money. All of the crazy shit that he has done will just be written off as lovable and eccentric.

Vince McMahon is one of those rare people in the world that are beyond description with mere words. You can only describe him by saying: He was Vince McMahon.

Yeah, it's gonna vary from person to person, but I think the longer he stays in charge, the more negative the view of everything he's done will be.

Vincent Kennedy McMahon became great on the back of his father and those who'd surrounded him during the years he was building his empire. He has maintained his empire in spite of himself.

The media will say he owned the WWF/E. The premier professional wrestling company. They'll talk about Andre and Hogan. And Austin and Rock. Mention the steroid trial and Benoit as the dark side of things.
That's all he'll get. That's all he deserves.

Perhaps so, but is that more of a reflection of Vince’s past history or the transition of the fandom’s taste’s? I meant more along the lines of the longer he stays in control, the more questionable his decisions seem to become? Like even a year or two ago, a question like this would've led to most people saying they have a strange fondness for him, even though he pisses them off. Now though, we have stuff like the Saudi tensions this past weekend souring people more on him and making them question what he's doing and the ramifications of it, so... I can imagine more things happening that will just further that with time.

How I see him simply as a fan: It's hard not to think of him as someone who has brought me entertainment over 30+ years. Have I loved eveything? No. But the good has outweighed the bad by a decent margin, otherwise, I'd have stopped a long time ago.
How I see the man as a person: Mick Foley described Vince as "A cross between Satan and a hell of a guy". That's always the description that I have found to be the most accurate when you consider all of the stories good, bad or in between.

Depends on how lucky he is with regards to skeletons pouring out of the closet after he passes.

Kinda similiar to Al Davis and Jerry Jones of the NFL. The Innovators who were Titans of their industry at middle age is part of their legacy but so is being the Mr. Burns like Senile Out Of Touch Micromanager who spent their last 2 decades destroying the once great thing they created.

It depends, are we talking people that actually know him or are we talking in like 50 years?
After a lot of time passes he's going to be remembered very fondly, he'll probably be remembered as the king of pro wrestling and you'll have people discussing how the business wasn't the same after he died, etc etc.
