From the Observer:
"Another bad week at the gate with the 11/2 show in Pittsburgh drawing 250 and the 11/3 show in Columbus, OH, drawing 300."

DId they ever report what the numbers were for the Oct NOLA show. Was told by people that went it was 800 to 1000. But seeing it on TV last night it looked more like 600.

Why is ROH doing house shows?
People barely come to the televised stuff.

The company's been around for 17 years. This is embarrassing. It couldn't survive without a sugar daddy

They run events that go up on Honor Club, and the TV show is just hype and recaps of those events. Does ROH run actual house shows like WWE does where they aren't used as content that's going to be shown somewhere?

Once New Japan starts running shows regularly in their towns, it's going to get even worse. I could see quite a few ROH wrestlers just signing to New Japan US.

I feel for the wrestlers, cause they've got some legitimately good guys under contract (even Taven, as much as we deride him, is fine, he's just not a main event guy). But the company itself is just a disaster at this point. It's incredible just how bad it looks to contrast how things were this time last year to today. It takes a special level of mismanagement and tonedeafness to your consumer base to fall this far so quickly.

I know they canceled their Texas shows but are doing meet and greets. We're they canceled for bad ticket sales?

What a minuscule promotion. Time to add Nasty Boys to roster.

It takes a special level of mismanagement and tonedeafness to your consumer base to fall this far so quickly. Yeah, the whole situation blows. The episode that was uploaded to Fite this week had Jonathan Gresham vs. Alex Shelley from Glory By Honor, and it was one of the better matches I've seen all year...but ROH has put themselves in a position where things like that aren't generating buzz. Even Rush's title win: Rush has a fantastic aura about him, but it feels like they're not going to get the value they should from his reign...not because he can't be a really good champ, but because they don't seem to know how to promote the talent they have, especially not in a North American pro wrestling scene that's more crowded than ever. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but so much of the poor vibes are coming from, as you say, the mismanagement and tone deafness of their office. I'll say it again, I'd give just about anything for them to get sold to a stable company with a modicum of interest in bettering the company; the current management sucks, but the talent deserves that kind of improvement.

The new clip show type format is atrocious.

I think WWE mostly does house shows as a morale thing, mostly because pretty much everyone who's spoke on the subject has gone, "Yeah, house shows are a blast but doing TV is awful."

As one of the few who still watches and enjoys the ROH product I agree with this completely. People always talk about how monumental and quick WCW's collapse was but ROH managed to go from a company record year high to a company low in the course of one year. We all knew there would be growing pains once the Elite guys left the company but holy s*** this is far worse than anybody could have envisioned.
