Seriously, the amount of people who just seem to hate everything about modern wrestling is ridiculous, like, there's people who seem to complain every time a wrestler does something that involves them leaving their feet, they don't want anything to evolve and they just want everything to be stuck in a time warp where everyone wrestles like it's back in the territory days.
The thing is, the idea that a lot of these bitter traditionalists have about wrestling falls apart when you realise that their beloved "Old school, southern rasslin'" stuff was seem as shocking and disgusting to the generation before that as a wrestler daring to do a dive or having the aduacity to wrestle in a modern style gets today.
Wrestling always has to evolve, but it seems like people are always trying to halt wrestling changing with the times, wanting wrestling to go "back to it's roots" in 2019 is like if you went to a doctor's surgery and he got out a jar of leeches. It's like if, for the next GTA game, Rockstar decided "Nah, we're not going to make a game that looks jaw dropping, we're going to have everything in 8 bit and go back to the traditonal days of gaming!"

Personal tastes. There us a subset of the fandom that feels they're not being catered to by the modern product so they're going to voice their complaints.

That's fair enough, but they do have NWA: Powerr; that's something that is pretty much tailor made for the sizeable section of old school fans, so they don't really need to complain when NWA have made a promotion practically for them. Unless they refuse to accept that there are promotions that have different styles and won't rest until every promotion is old school.

I wouldn't call myself a traditionalist, I just find nothing in modern wrestling catches my attention or caters enough to the things I like for me to find the time to watch and get in to.

People just like different stuff. Many of the things I enjoy in wrestling are “traditional”, while at the same time I like how the business/craft in many ways has evolved.

I don't think it's so much they hate anyone who leaves their feet. Me personally I hate how some matches are nothing but guys or teams getting into position for the 75th big spot in the match.
The endless close call pinfalls gets old after its done over and over in every match.
I'm a traditionalist but I also enjoy todays product, just those things I listed is what I don't care for.

Isn't this the same post you've posted three or four times now, just worded slightly differently?
Some people like old wrestling, some people like new and shock horror, some like both... that's literally all there is to it.

There are about 5 threads about this very subject from the exact same poster. I thibk op is a good poster and I enjoy reading their stuff but there really doesn't need to be this many threads on the same thing pretty much complaining about those that prefer older wrestling to the newer stuff. Who cares what period of wrestling people enjoy.

If Rockstar announced that, people would get hyped. An online GTA in the graphical style of Minecraft, or even top down like their first few ?

The fact that it now exists doesn't explain why traditionalists felt they had nothing to watch for years. It's not like all these complaints happened in the last few weeks since Powerrr started. Also, Powerrr is sort of a satire. It is paying homage to those old shows, but also sort of making fun of them at the same time. Powerrr is to studio wrestling what Steel Panther is to hair metal.

Having a preference has never been a problem with me and never will be. It's cool to have that and helps in building different types of art and culture etc.
Gatekeeping, on the other hand, sucks and has no place anywhere.

Can't we just all be allowed to exist in our favourite wrestling worlds without having to be made to feel ashamed about it?
I'm solely watching NWA Powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr at the moment because it ticks all the boxes that I want from a wrestling organisation. If that makes me an old man yelling at a cloud...even though I'm only 35, then I'm happy to be an old man yelling at a cloud.
