A few years when I still thought Ziggler gave two shits about his own career, I may have supported this decision.
Now, I don't know why he claims he fights for it at all.

I swear, I am usually not supportive of people being contentious or contrary for its own sake, but every time people start talking about Ziggler, all I want to do is defend him. There just seems to be such weird, personal contempt; I sincerely don't get it. Because all he does is TALK. He complains about his booking and how much things suck to the point it became part of his character and yet when he had the freedom to leave he stayed You made your bed, lie in it.

His booking DOES suck. ALL the booking in the WWE sucks. If he wants the financial security or whatever the WWE provides, that doesn't mean he's wrong that he should be booked better!

But he’s not some desperate person for money. Dude works for FoxNews and has his own side gig with comedy and all of that. Don’t tell me your booking sucks for 2 years and then when the door is open for you to leave you turn around and sign a new contract You made your bed as I said. You know WWE sucks, you been voicing your displeasure and you still go back? Okay, you are still entitled to your opinion it you’re crying wolf at this point because you had the opportunity to prove yourself elsewhere and did not. This is like witnessing someone in a toxic relationship as far as arguing and stress goes always cry to you about it and wanting to get out. They have opportunities, meet new people and seem to work themselves out of a hole only for them to be dragged back to the gutter. You listened to it enough, eventually people have to live with the decisions they made so yes Dolph your booking does suck but I don’t give a f*** anymore after hearing it for 5 years

The match would have been 10x more memorable if it was just a spear and a jackhammer, lol. The match was made so Dolph can bump for him and we get that one spear to potentially live for the ages. We got that My man, what else did you expect ? For Buff Bagwell to come out and give you a hug ?

Dolph is all talk and no action. He wants people to think that he’s standing up to the WWE, but he’s really just going along with all of the BS that they shovel at him. Contrast him against Ambrose who just did all of dumb shit that Vince came up with, didn’t talk trash about it on Twitter, and left first chance that he could before completely burying the process.

“Bell, spear” would’ve been over as hell and would not have made him look any worse than what the match was. Him being caught off guard makes him look better than his offence being shrugged off. Nobody wants a dolph ziggler match to go beyond 1 minute nowadays I do.

Dolph is still a good worker He's not the best or most under-appreciated anymore but I think if you let him go out there in an NXT type setting and let him do him he can get it done

And his political views for me being disinterested in him. I mean Kofi reinvented himself. Why does dolph stay a third rate hbk. I wish he would be an eighties hair metal gimmick complete with rapey van and just come out to hit on chicks and listen to tunes on his jam box Like he should be that guy Like make rik bugez, mojo, dolph all be hangers on of elias please

Kofi had to fight for that reinvention and got it. Dolph might have had ideas he pitched but they were happy to keep him how he is or, what seems to be more likely, was happy with what he had and just waited for ideas to pop up. I’m not even defending Dolph here but that’s the reality of WWE right now. You either fight your corner or just accept the paycheck for the standard.

Dolph is still a really good worker. I’m just kinda sad that for all the dude’s bravado he’s not confident enough to bet on himself somewhere else. Taking the money is fine, nothing wrong with setting up your nest egg now,
I get the complaint about wanting to do more even in a squash. When I was working I was in a squash match putting someone over and I was putting ideas for spots forward and kept getting them shot down - even something as simple as a Sunset Flip for a quick hope spot I got told no. So I get it.

At least with guys like ryder and hawkins they never had a chance Ugh these promos from ziggler have been the same since 2011

His political views have nothing to do with anything Dude just wines about what he thinks he should be and it has not stopped for years. Dolph is his own victim because all of this complaining has brought him some good things like title reigns but no sustained run of success where he can legit go back to being a world champion contender He relied on his i'm the best guy in the ring stuff for so long and it doesn't ring true anymore. At the end of the day, when you been complaining and you had the chance to leave and you didn't take it, for whatever reason you may have I don't really care to hear about it anymore. Dolph is a recognizable name and face, he would get bookings without question. Dude just seems like he wants an easy road

Now whether he thinks he could step up was probably the scenario he cooked up before signing again which...yeah, still makes his complaints now dumb.

Yea, like either way you look at it just seems dumb If you believe in yourself so much you will make it on the indies. He will get bookings without looking due to his talent and how long he has been in WWE. He would get a heros welcome on the indies imo but the question is does he want to do that and does he think he can make it? Now, if the answer is no, then that is on him. From a kayfabe perspective, Dolph has a HOF resume. In a perfect world, him and Kofi would be fighting for the WWE title striking back to fighting over the mid card title like Jeff/Edge did, HHH/Rock etc but at the end of the day dude has won every title there is to win there. You go on the indies and get on your shit and you're a made man

You go on the indies and get on your shit and you're a made man I’m not saying it’s a reason but he possibly saw how Curt Hawkins did going back to the indies (his PWG run wasn’t seen as...good, from what I remember) and doesn’t want to end up like that? But then, like, it wasn’t even like Hawkins did nothing of note outside of WWE (former TNA tag champ with Trevor Lee of all people) but maybe he doesn’t feel he’d live up to himself. But the difference between him and Curt is that, well, Curt tried. And hey, got him back with WWE which would have happened with Dolph easily.
