Perhaps one of the darkest days in wrestling history. I will never forget being 13, going to wwe.com and seeing the words Tragic Loss with Eddies picture on the screen. Eddie was one of my favorite wrestlers at the time and it killed me knowing that he would never grace our screens again.

I was a sobbing mess that entire tribute Raw. Eddie was one of the guys that hooked me into watching. I couldn't believe that he was gone.

I was only 12 at the time and I thought it was a storyline. I couldn’t believe it.
I came back from a carnival and saw it on WWE.com. I was in total shock.

Still one of the worst memories I've ever had as a wrestling fan was waking up to the headlines on wwe.com that Sunday morning. We had just bought Wrestlemania tickets too so instead of getting to see him compete at the Rosemont like I was looking forward to, I instead ended up sitting in a hotel room in Chicago with my brother and his friends watching his posthumous Hall of Fame induction. Heartbreaking.

A loss that still affects many of us to this day.....my mom cried when I told her the news because her and my dad have literally seen all the Guerrero men compete in the ring here in the states and Mexico.
One of the most charismatic and technically-gifted wrestlers ever and he’s on my “Mount Rushmore” of wrestling.
We miss you Eddie

I was leaving work at around 5 that Sunday, and one of the guys getting in shift told me. I raced home and went straight to WWE.com. Was absolutely devastated.

I just missed the Owen death by about a month so Eddie was the first main roster death that really effected me. It's crazy to think that within 97-07 we kinda just accepted these deaths as "part of the job". Rude, Owen, Bulldog, Eddie and so many more I'm forgetting.
As awful as the Benoit tragedy was, without that we might still be coasting through regular deaths.

Devastating. I remember his memorial was the only one I cried during. I wasn’t even the biggest mark, but he was undeniable and so inspiring by that point in his life. My father, despite not caring about wrestling, was hurt too because he knew of his family and their impact.

Watching Benoits segment during the tribute, it's clear just how much Eddie's death broke him.
Absolutely not defending him whatsoever, just an observation

Please watch the 3 Doors Down Tribute Video. Each year I watch this on this day. One of the BEST videos ever made.

I had MSN as my homepage. When I saw it there, I just stared at it for almost 5 minutes. Like I was hoping it would change and they'd say it was a mistake.
Eddie is a guy who could always put a smile on any fan's face. Vince and co. love to say things like "we put smiles on people's face" as some sort of corporate marketing slogan. It wasn't a slogan for Eddie. Eddie Guerrero was always a joy when he was on TV. Even when he wasn't fully on his game, he always did something you'd remember the next day.
I love Eddie. Ever since I saw him in WCW as a little boy. I remember how much he got under my skin for his treatment of Chavo as a heel.
I still think about what he'd be doing, or where he'd be had he lived to this day.

I got a call that day from one of my best friends that loved wrestling as much as I did. I was crushed. I always made it a point to watch Eddie Guerrero matches on every ECW, WCW and WWE show. I just enjoyed his work that much. I still feel the loss and there will never be another like him. I think I might have been a bigger fan of WWE these days if he was still around. It hasn’t felt as good to me since without him.

Found out about it on TNA’s website funnily enough. You know when TNA was the cool thing right?! It was the night Christian was debuting. But the first thing I saw was about Eddie and it just floored me. It was incomprehensible. He had a title match on Smackdown that week!
The tribute show was hard to watch and it was hard to see everyone suffering like that in front of a live audience. Benoit in particular looked completely crushed. Obviously it’s hard to say whether this led to Benoit doing what he did but it can’t have helped. But going back to Eddie it was obvious the respect everyone had for him and he’s still greatly missed.

That period where I just moved house changed job, and had no tv or internet access for a couple of months. I switched on Smackdown in early December and found it weird that JBL was referencing his 'great friend' Eddie Guerrero.
I didn't find out until later that month when a newspaper did a list of people who had passed that year. Hammer blow.

Eddie was our Papi. No doubt he'd be at or near the top of the card at all times had he lived. R.I.P.
