The divorce between Jim Cummings and his ex-wife was incredibly messy, to say the least. That isn't to say the accusations were flat-out lies, but so many things got thrown out there in addition to lack of evidence, and his ex-wife's own personal issues that it muddled the waters a lot. At the very least it allows Disney plausible deniability. Jeremy Renner is having the same issues, and let's not forget the whole Johnny Depp/Amber Heard mess.

There are apparently 2 episodes from the 1st season of DuckTales missing ("episodes 2 & 3 of season 1," which I think means the episodes after the initial 5-part/weeklong event that was the start of the series) and I've not found an explanation anywhere as to why...

The showrunner put up a show order in their considered intended order since it's not on Disney+ in the right order so I'm guessing those are problems they're talking to them about too?

That's the 2017 version. I think knapp is referring to the 1987 version.

That started (as a bunch of 'toons back then did, like GI JOE and TRANSFORMERS) with the 5-part (daily in syndication) events.

Learn something new every day. It's a big reason I miss syndication. Nowadays you have a 5 part event over 5 weeks. Back then, you had the event done in a week, with a new ep every day. You had new episodes of a cartoon every weekday. Think about that happiness. What's odd in DuckTales' case, with their opening 5-day event (the only one they ever did, I think?) is that when they put it on DVD years and years later...... they didn't include those episodes on the first DVD set. So Vol.1 DVD starts with.....episode 6, with ALL the introductory stuff from the first 5 episodes lost on any new viewers. But when Vol.2 came out......there is was. Tacked onto the beginning of volume two disc one.

I read on Toonzone that the word "midget" was cut from the first episode of Recess. On that note, I read that the initial airings of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends had Firestar at a costume party remark that a girl dressed as Sheena was a "jungle bunny", only to cut it out for obvious reasons later. Is this edit retained?

Is this edit retained? How about the episode with Red Skull? Gone? Edited? Intact? (This one is not afraid to show swastikas, nor villains saying "Heil Hitler!") I wouldn't be shocked by the former. Buzzr is cutting out the same word from old Match Game episodes.

The episode that is missing from season 1 of the 87 Ducktales is "Spinx For The Memories", it has some culturally insenitive stuff in it, but so does many episodes of the 87 series.

The miniseries that started DuckTales is part of season one, but listed as episodes 37-41, instead of episodes 1-5. And as I said, although there are four seasons, they have somehow mangled the order so badly, there are only three listed. Grab your Tylenol, it can be unscrambled, but it’s a mess.

Even UPN and I think ABC Family retained it.

It's like putting this * opening event to the entire series that introduces everyone and the relationships between them, Disney* at the end of Vol.2 instead of at the beginning like on the DVDs.

Was about to ask if it's on the recent Complete Series DVD release, but a later tweet in this thread shows that it's intact.

Buzzr is cutting out the same word from old Match Game episodes. Current edits of past stuff are weird. Like, even though I personally don't agree with editing past art, I get the logic of cutting out the heroes of the story saying and doing offensive things. However, when it's the villains of the story saying and doing offensive things, why can't they keep that in? For example, I'm Jewish. When the villain of the story is anti-Semitic and says things like "Heil Hitler" it just makes me want to see them get defeated even more.
