So who can he go against at Wrestlemania that will be main-event worthy? Reigns? Joe or Brock for the title. I love Punk, but they are the only two matches I want to see Punk in.

Kofi Kingston vs. CM Punk.
Kofi would put his friend over.
Punk would put his friend over.
Ironman match. Tied 0-0. Goes into sudden death overtime.

I feel like this should be huge news, but I just don’t care. Probably says more about me than anything else though Because it isn't really that huge news. He's an analyst on a studio show that barely anyone watches and isn't even signed with WWE. I do think his appearance will cause a ratings bump beyond its current audience of "baseball stadium at full capacity," but that's about it. It's not like he's actually wrestling again despite what people are reading into. And he isn't even full time. He is a part timer at WWE Backstage

PWI said Punk's contract is with Fox only and he's signed nothing with WWE. He also had a meeting with Khan about AEW but he passed on "a lot of money" according to Meltz.

While not completely part of the company, this could be an opportunity for WWE to try and patch things with Punk(or at least try to get back in his good graces) and get him to sign back somehow.
Personally, I can still do without him.

I think it's better Punk's deal is with FOX and not WWE. There's probably a lot more freedom in what he can say and I doubt he'd have to deal with any WWE management, which always seems like a plus considering how inept they appear to be.

I'm sure I'm missing the nuance here, but being paid to comment by the company who is paying a billion to the company you are commenting on seems like a distinction without a tangible difference.

The only people that Punk seems to have an issue with is Hunter and possibly Stephanie. Even during the infamous podcast he didn't necessarily have anything horrible to say about Vince in totality. I wouldn't be surprised if Vince called him, apologized, and told him that he'd only deal with him and not Hunter nor Stephanie in order for Punk to return in some capacity.
Vince is as ruthless, cold, and greedy as they come. But he does have some degree of respect and compassion for those with a similar mindset as him.

Easy example for me, it’d be like saying Charles Barkley is representing the NBA when he’s paid by TNT to talk about the NBA for their network. Like, if you’ve seen even an inch of Inside the NBA, you’d not want Barkley represent you in any way. And I fully say this with love.

Just putting himself forward to talk about wrestling on tv makes me hope his passion for wrestling will return to the level of being back in the ring at some point. This is good news.

I can't stop laughing at Booker T trying to be professional despite clearly disliking the dude based on previous comments.

Yeah he said in another interview he'd be fair. If it's good he'd say it was good if it was shit he'd say it was shit. I've really soured on the guy for the past five years it whatever but I really believe he will do this.

It means he's not stepping into a WWE ring anytime soon, basically. Everything else is semantics, though he has more freedom to talk about WWE as a Fox employee versus having to go through Vince or Triple H. But that's the big one.

I know they say bizness is bizness but it does blow my mind that WWE have basically given Fox freedom to do what they want and hire a guy who trashed the company quite publicly and accused them of basically nearly killing him.
I like Punk and he’s a smart guy, he gets a sweet paycheck and can probably say what he wants without the WWE filter.

I doubt anyone likes every single person that they work with. I hope for Punk's sake that the two of them are able to remain cordial and professional.

what's the story between Booker and Punk? Long story short, Booker said that during his time in the company with Punk, Punk (then WWE Champion) used to act like he was in charge of the locker room which rubbed Book the wrong way.

Completely agree Books reaction was hilarious and kinda awkward. Ya can tell he was not only caught off guard but it was to highlight Punk who he’s openly talked shit about and probably looks down upon
