"In 2013 when I was in developmental, they sat me down in a room after six months and said wrestling is not for you. You're not cut out for it, find another job. I could have taken that to heart and walked away, because their style wasn't for me. They were right, their style wasn't for me. I had to go off and find something completely different. I go out there and perform my way. I don't think I do anything I learned in wrestling school in my matches because it doesn't work for me. I do what I know works." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/11/luchasaurus-recalls-wwe-telling-him-to-find-another-662109/

A talent told they were worthless and should go do something else while Bill Demott was running things? Colour me shocked.

I don't think his gimmick is suited to WWE anyway.

I don't think his gimmick is suited to WWE anyway. Really? I think he'd be perfect. He'd be more over than most of the roster.

I dunno I just think maybe AEW will handle sillier things like the "He's ACTUALLY a dinosaur!" jokes better than WWE would. I've not seen a great deal of him tbh but it might be a bit too cartoony for them. Not that WWE is the height of serious no nonsense wrestling obviously but if he was a "scary" guy in a mask then I think they'd be more into him.

I don't think his gimmick is suited to WWE anyway. You're talking about the same company whose champion is a children's TV host that has a secondary mystical persona that is able to bend time and space akin to a slasher villain. The same company who at one time employed a trio known as "The Funkasaurus and the Funkadactyls". If anything, this gimmick is more within their wheelhouse than AEW's.

I just don't want to hear Cole tell me that he loves to have fun haha.

Never tell anyone they shouldn’t do something. I feel this in my bones. I remember being told by my HS theater teacher “don’t audition at the college you’re going to. you won’t get cast”. I ended up cast as lead in my first audition. My point is, I think there’s a few extreme cases where maybe people should be strayed away but more often this “dont do it. Do something else” type of advice seems so...mean? Pointlessly mean to possibly deter someone and their ambitions.

Never tell anyone they shouldn’t do something. There are obvious exceptions to this. Haha. For example, deep frying your shirt. 😉

I mean did they learn nothing from Batista?
Dude was told he was a lost cause by the powerplant then became one of WWE's biggest stars.

This would be true if the commentary and presentation didn't hinder everything. Even simple things like commentary shutting the f*** up during an entrance meant to be creepy doesn't happen.

I have seen limited matches from him so I might be wrong.
But what he was back then didn't work for the WWE. He got let go and changed his style, he's a dinosaur. It's the gimmick that people are into, maybe not his wrestling style.
